Not any play, no. But that's sometimes a giveaway.
They do match the playart, but they don't necessarily match the rest of the formation.
I don't think he's planning to list all the plays within each playbook. That'd be a massive level of effort.

I think you've maybe been a bit misled by the term "hidden plays" ... that sounds a lot more exciting than it is. It's more like a formation within a formation. The "hidden" formation is reflected in the play art, if you're paying attention.
As an example, here's South Carolina's Emory and Henry in NCAA 11, from Ace Big, and a sort of Ace Big "Tight" variation in Syracuse's playbook. You can tell by the play art that's there something funky going on:

Ahh okay I get it now and thanks for the example Unconquered.
I just was wondering if there would be a list somewhere that showed all those plays because doesn't custom playbook just list the names of the plays and not the playart? Idk... I'm sure I'll end up just going through every play in the game at some point...
Custom Playbook shows the playart of the play on the right.

My bad I totally forgot I thought it just showed the formation and then listed the play name. Ahhh! I want the game!
This may have been answered elsewhere, but how many custom playbooks are we allowed to have?
I noticed in the Day One Update thread that we will have the ability to pick the computer's playbook. Might be useful for eliminating the all out blitz from the cpu's repertoire.

Would someone be willing to do a video walkthrough of just the wildcat formations in the ncaa 2012 custom playbooks feature?
But I remember there being multiple wildcat formations in NCAA 11 for example the UCLA version, Rutgers, Troy, and UAB all had different wildcats
Yes, all those I listed are different formations
Yeah... looks like other than Gator Heavy, Wildcat and Wildcat Spread, the unique Wildcat style formations have the same treatment as Goalline. They're tied to specific playbooks, which is very unfortunate. That said, I'm going through all of the playbooks now (only 5 or so remaining) and creating a spreadsheet that shows every formation in a playbook, including Wildcats and Goalline so if you want a specific one, you can at least start with that team as your template. It sucks but it's at least a workable solution.
Well that's a disappointment, that changes a few things. So just to be clear, If i wanted the Rutgers wildcat formation I would have to use their playbook as my base?
Bummer. That's too bad. I knew there had to be a catch with custom playbooks! Ah well, it's pretty minor, especially since I think the Wildcat is hugely overrated anyway. But still -- I think some people are gonna be disappointed with this, even if there's a workaround.
good heads up on the wildcats...cause i remember from NCAA 11 that Rutgers wildcat was simlar to the one that Atlanta had on madden if so then i guess rutgers playbook will be my template...good work with everything yall doing here guys keep it up
custom playbooks might be the best addition this year. just spent a couple of hours making one. It's great, so many possibilities.
I'm curious to see what hidden plays are available in certain Team playbooks. For example, people have mentioned the Auburn Wildcat that is only available if you select the Auburn playbook as your base playbook. It is not available to you through Custom Playbooks from my understanding. With that being said, I wonder if there is some hidden Pistol goodness in the Nevada, Ohio, Indiana, UCLA, Hawaii, etc. that can only be used in those playbooks, if any? If this proves to be true, it tempers my excitement a little towards Custom Playbooks. Rather than having everything at my fingertips, I've got to do a thorough search through each Team playbook for Team specific plays.
No. The only "hidden" formations are Wildcats (12), Goallines (6), and Syracuse has Empty - Flex Trey which is unique to them.
For the the Wildcats, some of them have multiple wildcat formations inside the same formation. So for example, Nebraska has the Shotgun - Wildcat Slot (aka Bulldog) and Shotgun - Wildcat Vulcan (UAB's Y-Trips style Wildcat) mixed into their Wild Husker.
Sometime in the future I plan to outline the unique formations and what is included in them (including play-art) since you can't see them in the CPB creation area.
Well, that's good to know. I never ran any Wildcat stuff so those don't really pertain to me. I wonder why Syracuse was left a unique formation? Developer error?
I noticed you mentioned Goal Lines...I know some of them were unique to certain teams in last years edition such as TCU's Power-I. Which teams have different Goal Line formations and what are the differences from a regular Goal Line package?
Not sure about Syracuse's formation but yeah I would assume it's some kind of oversight.
As for the Goallines, that will be covered in my spreadsheet. However, I'll need help from the community to identify teams that have "Goalline - Normal" but have unique plays/formations hidden inside it. Not sure if there are for sure any but I know there were some last year.
I like how you can reorder the plays but I'm not liking how we can't reorder the formations.

Yeah... that's something I hope is added next year.
One note though, formations you add are alphabetized after the existing formations. So theoretically, you could remove all formations and then add them back in to at least have them all alphabetized. Not ideal but workable.
It's a work around for the time being at the very least, as far as reordering the formations.
Those goallines formations I'm going to take a look at a few teams each night here for a bit till we kick off online dynasties. If I come across any I'll let you know G.
Yo G...don't know if you can answer, but "Wildcat Ace"...(Its Unique, btw)
Is that what I think it is? 2 WR, 2 TE?
