a new post-up control, which does away with last year's unwieldy, dual-trigger command to get a big man to back down his defender. Now it's on triangle/Y, and one touch gets his back to the basket, or gets him to face up. In addition to making half-court basketball less complicated, it also frees up the triggers, as modifiers, for those who are comfortable exploring a new range of post moves, counter-moves, and counters to those counters. It also means players like Al Jefferson, who post up their man, then quickly face up and drive, are represented more accurately and are more useful to your offense.
thanks 2K
Awesome, but, damn it, now I gotta relearn how to post people up and do all the fancy moves!
I'm sorry, but rap does NOT go with a bunch of shots of old time players. Stop with these dumb ass trailers and do what they did last year (use real players in awesome commercials that are funny and show off the game).
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOO nice
I agree Ram. That's some good stuff. Definitely VERY interested in seeing how 2k12 plays.
The NBA 2K Facebook page has been showing some new additions to My Player:
- Pre-Draft Interviews with GMs
- Mock Drafts
- David Stern will voice first round picks in NBA Draft
- Outdoor billboards
- Magazine Covers (Sports Illustrated)
I don't think this was ever posted, but NBA 2K12 will not include rookies out of the box.
IF the lockout ends, they will be put in on a roster update.
Are you going to have more control of dribbling and stuff? I haven't played 2k since 10 and it was horrible to me. NBA Live I could always use the right stick to control my dribbling and I was a beast on it. NBA 2k seemed like they restricted you in terms of ball handling and shooting.
New "Insight" posted on Facebook (:smh:)
Other developers could learn from this, I feel.Quote:
Jerson Sapida, Gameplay Producer, here with my first Developer Insight for NBA 2K12. I want to introduce our new Training Camp mode for NBA 2K12
...
During the development of NBA 2K12, one of our main goals was to create a mode where the user can learn both the basic and advanced moves that the game has to offer. This should be a mode where someone new to 2K basketball can just jump in and master the controls with ease. At the same time, it should also offer veterans of the series something deeper to give them that extra winning edge. But we didn’t want to stop there. To make learning the moves fun and easy, we implemented a Feedback System...
Good. I think all sports games need to include better "tutorials" then they do now (which most sport games don't even bother with). We need to teach the game (sport) to kids and give a way that fans of the sport (who aren't gamers) can embrace the game.
The :smh: was solely to the fact that it was posted on FB (or, more specifically, that FB was the only place I could find it originally posted).
Ah, ok. I completely agree. It's great that they're doing more for that. Sadly though, I don't think it helps much in teaching actual aspects of how the game should be played (when compared to real life). Of course, part of that is my pre-Jordan love of the game of basketball and how much it's been perverted into a high screen pick and roll one-on-one crapfest that it is now.
But, more on point, it's definitely good that they are incorporating a more feedback oriented direction for the training camp stuff. Anything to help people learn how to play the game right is always a good thing.
Here is a new blog on the post-game in 2K12. There will be a post-game controls trailer next week.
Another new blog, this one discussing defense.
Wow, I couldn't be more excited for this game. I finally took the time to read through all their blogs discussing the gameplay and My Player changes and I'm stoked to play the game. Wow.
Other developers could learn from the 2K series in general. I absolutely loved 2K college hoops and miss it BADLY. I watched an OS video and the commentary was ridiculously good it was almost like watching a game on TV.
I know I'd kill for 2K12 college hoops.
Facebook page for 2k says that the demo for NBA 2k12 will be out sometime during the day of Tuesday, September 20th.
Online Association - Confirmed

New blog discussing Controls
Damn, this game is about to quickly work it's way into my day 1 purchases, which isn't good, as I may be about to have $500+ tied up very quickly in Navy football uniform purchases in the coming months, but this game is sounding to be too much fun to wait even a month or two on buying.
I was going to hold off, but I think I'll be getting it day one as well. This and Arkham City will probably be my only day ones for a while.
Yeah, especially with Online Association. That could be fun.
Dr Js shoe treads ned to be white though...
and you cant use the legend teams online
Demo out now on 360, later today on PS3.
The lack of options in the demo has quite a few people disappointed and believing this won't endear the game to new players. One four minute quarter, no play-calling, no team selection, no commentary, no sliders, no options, no additional camera views.
Pfft, god I'm starting to hate this half-assed crap with demos. I don't care if it's a smaller download, at least give me a full 4 quarter game, at least 5 minutes a quarter, play-calling, options and sliders. Team selection, I don't really care about as long as it's fun. Commentary, I never care about in any game demo. Camera views, I'll screw around with that in the game. But the no options, sliders and play-calling and only a single four minute quarter, it's a waste. I'm not even going to waste my time and bother downloading the demo for 2K12.
Same here....I know I want the game, but the demo doesn't sound enticing in the slightest.
Yeah, just reading the blogs, seeing the videos and everything, I know I'm getting this game, at least at some point. That has never been in doubt for me with as much fun as I have had with NBA 2K11 since I bought it back in May. But for a crap demo like that, to me it literally is not worth the time, nor the hard drive space, to spend to downloading it. Really disappointing.
