That would be just silly.

If they have Blu-Ray movie capabilities, they're practically required to block it. About the only hope is that Sony & MS work out something so that it knows the difference between playing a game & watching a movie.
Here's a video for the HD-PVR2... looks like all the functionality of the HD-PVR plus the HDMI & quick-trim capabilities that the Elgato has. Though I'm curious if the device does Component to HDMI upgrade since it doesn't appear to have Component out.

So.... basically they are trying to stop any momentum of the Elgato?
You'd think in this social media & digital age, MS & Sony realize the importance of being able to capture footage.
MS & Sony gaming division -- yes.
Paramount, Universal, and Sony Pictures -- no.
Also, they're concerned with reviewers and other legitimate media being able to capture video ... not so much Average Joe.
Anybody play this yet? Reviews are mixed.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 announced!
http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.c.../06/pvz623.jpg
PopCap Games announced a sequel to Plants vs. Zombies this morning, with the casually epic battle of flora vs undead returning next year. The game is expected to see the sun in the "first half of 2013," with a narrower window of "late spring" also mentioned.
As one would expect from a sequel, it will include new "features, settings, and situations," but there are no specific details at this time.
PopCap has been in heavy promotion of its PvZ franchise lately, with the Talking Zombatar expected later this year. Hitting the cross-promotion button, Zen Studios is expected to reveal a pinball table this weekend featuring a PopCap franchise. Doesn't take braaaaains to figure out what it'll likely be.
On a related note, I thought this was pretty funny comic from CAD for DayZ

Beat it and got all the achievements on the second day of playing. Easily my favorite arcade title I've ever played on PS3 or 360. You'll be hard pressed to find another side scrolling platformer that does such a fantastic job of setting atmosphere. I literally loved every second of it.
63% with 3 hours and 22 minutes left on my backup :D
Almost had the 320GB full. So it'll take 9 hours each way for backup and restore.

Finally cracked open Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition last night. Wanted to start playing through the single player campaigns of the Halos leading up to 4. The only game I had prior was Reach. The Kinect commands are pretty neat. The two I used mainly were reload and flashlight. Kinda neat how they work, even though playing as many shooters as I have in my life, hitting :360x: or :ps3sq: are second nature.
I surprisingly haven't played the Anniversary Edition too much. I haven't played the single player campaign, but I did jump into some multiplayer Big Team Battle action the first week or so after the game came out. 99% of all of my Halo gameplay in the last two years has been playing Halo Reach multiplayer.
Friday I assume. I haven't even got Season Ticket yet. So I don't know the schedule of release. Going to purchase it Friday after work.

Damn hard drive was too thick to put in the cradle so I put it in there without the cradle and turned on the PS3 and it wouldn't recognize the hard drive...thought I was SOL, but took it out and put it back in and it worked. Just need to be careful not to bump the system too much and jar the HDD loose. In the process of restoring now.
HDD successfully installed. 566GB free
Yeah not sure why it wouldn't on the left hand side there is an overlap on the metal wall, and that was where I ran into problems.
This is the drive I got:

Other than the brand it looks exactly the same as the one I purchased

Odd.
Well all-in-all, the drive is installed (though without a cradle) and the system is restored so I'm happy :)

Yep the one wall of the cradle curls over the HDD which was the problem...along with the HDD and cradle only going in half way when I cut out that wall. At least it worked without the cradle, and I don't intend on moving my system until PS4. :D
I have so many PSN games though I had to let it run through the cache because it was taking forever for those games to load in the folder I created.
Snuck in a couple of rounds of Counterstrike: GO last night. I'm impressed for a shooter that cost me $12 (PS+ Price) I really dug it. It's fast paced, rounds go quick, no respawn. And it has a :plat:
That's nothing. The Steam version has 180 achievements, I believe. :D
I need to look at all these PS+ games I downloaded to see what does and what does not have the :plat:
I've been messing with Pac-Man lately I don't think it has a plat and I'm nearly done with all the trophies but its still a fun/free throwback to the arcade days growing up as a kid in the 80s.
