With Time Warner Cable here in Ohio, looks like it's time to start seeing what other options we have around here. :fp:
I have Comcast and I don't have much problem with them... price is decent enough and never really have a need to contact customer service. Plus my internet speed beats anything else in town for a fraction of the cost.
Plus, since I don't have a TV in my home office, I can stream everything from the night before on my computer. We don't have a DVR and get by with that.
For me it's either Time Warner/Comcast or DirecTV or Dish.
And I'm not going satellite.
I have Dish and I've never had any issues. Never goes out inked there is winds over 60mph which rarely happens in central PA.
I have comcast for internet and really like it.
If I can get the speed that Tommy has at Comcast, I'll be f'n happy :D
Well, maybe I'll see what happens. I've heard nothing but never ending negative things about Comcast. But with some of you having Comcast and either not having issues with them or being happy with them, maybe I'd be willing to see what they do after the merger (if it happens) and what they're like.
If I can get those kinds of speeds, for a reasonable price, and not deal with bandwidth caps, speed throttling, or overage costs, I'll be happy with that.
Cable could be a different issue, not sure how cable pricing will change with the merger, plus if the talk is true of having to get a new set top box that Comcast insists on over that of my current Time Warner box (especially since I have about 60% of my DVR space used up with certain programming that I've saving and not deleting right now, be it certain episodes of TV shows, movies that rarely are ever shown on TV (like once every couple years rare), etc, I'd really hate to lose all of those recorded programs just because Comcast insists I use their set top box.
Yeah we have had them for awhile now and have been pretty happy. We just re-upped for another year (although that was a hastle b/c a douche made us actually cancel the policy mail our old stuff back then call back and get a new account for the deal we got). The only issue is they really seem to throttle the upload speeds for some reason and the speeds for the net are not as fast as Comcast but I don't download allot other than the free PS games on PS4/PS3 so I can just leave them on over night.
A little Valentine's Day horror for you... here's a web-comic that will creep you out.

Time to file that class action that will pay for my own private island.
God bless photoshop. :)
I never heard of this site before and I'm not going to start reading it now as I can't get behind any form of media that has a clearly stated conservative/liberal agenda. Somebody posted it on Facebook and since I'm a born and bred Louisianian, I clicked it.
So, this article is totally for CLW's benefit. LOL!

A Sandy Ridge woman lost control of her car on slippery roads on Saturday morning.
Genevieve Sankey, 48, crashed her 2003 Chevrolet Silverado into trees along Phoenix Road in Rush Township at 3:30 a.m. Sankey told state police at Philipsburg that she left the road due to slippery conditions.
The car was towed from the scene. Sankey was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
****that has to be the biggest joke for a citation that I've seen lmfao*******
You can wait be patient and still earn it
I earned my degree and the jobs that came after earning...but was patient/waited while I attained it working retail jobs, etc...and the the positions after getting to be where I'm at now.
Had to take patience and work.
But I think we are taking the message two different ways.
:D
I'm not against the right. I agree with a lot of right core values. I just don't like the seeming lack of compassion for those who have not. Like, I don't agree with the way Obamacare is implented but I support 100% the overarching reason for it. The right, to me, is very black and white. The left plays in the gray area more. I'm a practical "best of both worlds" type of guy.

Patience and waiting are not the same. Patience is virtuous, waiting without exerting effort is not......I think we agree but the terms are not synonyms and you know what a philosophical nerd I am for correct definitions :D
The Left and Right are both black/white, as they should be.....this very modern notion of confused gray area ethics/morals stuff is bull. I would guess you view the "reason" for the new healthcare law as compassion and the needs of the poor. I would agree that compassion and care of those in need is a good thing much like charity. However, when forced to perform charity........well, it is no longer charity by definition. I would disagree on the "reason" for these new laws and believe it is merely more acquisition of power for those that have it, be they on the left or right. Care and compassion for our fellow man has and will continue to be used to erode individual liberty from the left much like foreign threats and "national interests" have been from the right. Sadly, there are way too many that have traded liberty (over several decades) for some form of security or another (both left and right) for us to avoid having both taken completely...............
For the record Bill, I never viewed you as a raging government is the answer lefty :D
Pretty good interview with this guy. While I don't agree with every point and would need him to nuance a few other points his basic ideas grounded in history, philosophy etc are dead on. Plus any guy that rubs the left and right wrong is a guy to give a hearing. Anyway, find an hour and a half, place any bias aside and watch

BTW I think smooth and :sf: will find much here they agree with.
I will find the time soon to have a look.
Just saw this on Facebook and I SOOOOO want some of these!!!

A Denver news station was talking about the helicopter crash in Seattle and to illustrate some of the damage, they were looking at pictures from Twitter straight from one of the reporter's ipad. After seeing the first picture of the crash, he continues scroll to look for more pictures from the same twitter account only to scroll a dick pic live on air...
Warning... said pic is included in the video on Deadspin at the link below:
