:fp: The last thing a BC fan should be worried about is being bowl eligable. Just strive for a win against an FBS team. Just do not plan on that this week.

I hate to say it, but Boston College has a 2:1 chance of winning 3 or less games this year, much less even considering thinking of becoming bowl eligible.
NCAA 12 coach mode dynasty as Maryland: played a game last night at Nebraska...and pillaged their asses to a 77-7 tune. They fumbled on back to back plays, I turned them into TD's, and then Brion Carnes threw a pick six on their next drive. That started the bludgeoning. Hope this isnt an omen for tonight's game since our offense is so amazing(ly shitty), and the defense has been subpar so far this year.
miami. heh.
I'll take the middle broad.

Steven Garcia dismissed at South Carolina....
http://twitter.com/#!/L__Lee/status/123819704241487872
Stoops has been fired at Arizona. Please Bob do not bring him back.
Now that I've cooled off a bit, I do hope for his sake Garcia gets help for his drinking problem. There's more important things in life than playing football. A man's entire life could be at stake. I thank him for the things he did for the South Carolina Football team and wish him well in his future endeavors.
Not that anyone else will really care but the commissioner of the Sun Belt has resigned according to ESPN 977 out of Monroe, LA.
http://twitter.com/#!/espn977/status/124186861026553856
He's somewhat polarizing for SBC fans... hasn't necessarily done anything all that wrong, but hasn't necessarily done anything all that great. He's been the head of the Sun Belt since 1998.
*Edit
Confirmed, effective July 2012

Even bigger news coming out of the Sun Belt.
Could the Pirate be coming to FAU? It would be a perfect fit for him, right next to the ocean.
Yeah, but that's about as "confirmed" as a fan saying "you know, I'd love for Nick Saban to coach my team next year". Until someone actually contacts one of the coaches, it's all just fairytale. I honestly don't think Leach would coach in the Sun Belt (unless he can't get anyone else to bite) and I don't think Leavitt nor Shannon would have the drive/passion to bring FAU out of the SBC cellar.
The thing with Leach is that he loves Florida and fishing. That could make up for taking a step back in quality of school. He is crazy enough to look at it as a challenge to take a team from such a small school to new heights. Texas Tech was a descent team when he became coach but nobody ever expected Texas Tech to hold the #2 spot in the nation, late in the season (of course OU took care of that). He was a good enough recruiter to get the kind of kids he needed to play his system. He did so recruiting people to Lubbock, Tx. I was raised in Lubbock and it is a nice town but not the easiest place to recruit kids. FAU has a new stadium and it is Boca Raton.
Much easier to recruit

Just read this interview.
From an email/news release that Navy's Sports Information department sent out.
Depending on whether Air Force-Army was scheduled for early or late October next year, odds are they're fine. :D The Yankees would be out of the postseason by October 15th at the latest. :DQuote:
Announced in 2009, Army was scheduled to face Rutgers (2011), Air Force (2012) and Boston College (2014) in a trio of games at new Yankee Stadium. The key word there of course, is was.
In a press release, Army announced that their 2012 game against the Falcons in the Bronx has been scrapped and will instead be played at West Point’s Michie Stadium.
The reason given for the decision to ditch Yankee Stadium? ”Concerns regarding a potential scheduling conflict with the 2012 Major League Baseball postseason led to the move,” the release stated.
“This change to our 2012 schedule will provide our fan base with a tremendous slate of games at Michie Stadium next year,” Army athletic director Boo Corrigan said in a statement. “With the strong possibility of a conflict with the Yankees’ postseason schedule, we felt it was in everyone’s best interests to return the game to West Point at this time. While we are excited about our continuing series at Yankee Stadium, our fans look forward to welcoming Air Force to Michie Stadium every other year. We are excited about working with our friends at the Yankees to host our game against Rutgers there next month and about continuing our series of games there in 2014.”
There’s no word on whether Army will look to add future games at the MLB park that would include their academy brethren.

Well there's no way Texas is going to give up those Wyoming, New Mexico and New Mexico State games. Gotta be guaranteed at least 1-2 wins each season. :D
I've been working on trying to figure out a way to rate CFB Offenses and Defenses. I think I've finally found something tonight. Here's the Top 15s ... let me know what you think. It's going into this week, and it's basically opponent-adjusted-scoring offense/defense. So if a team is ranked highly in scoring defense (Michigan State, UCF), they're going to be ranked highly here.
Top 15 Scoring Offenses
Oklahoma St.
Oregon
Oklahoma
Baylor
Wisconsin
Stanford
Houston
West Virginia
Texas Tech
Georgia Tech
Boise St.
Texas A&M
Utah St.
Cincinnati
Alabama
Top 15 Scoring Defenses
Alabama
Michigan St.
Penn St.
UCF
Wisconsin
Stanford
Temple
LSU
Michigan
Boise St.
Rutgers
Oklahoma
Kansas St.
Virginia Tech
Cincinnati
One piece I'm missing right now, and still trying to think about, is that my current system treats all shutouts equally. Obviously there's a difference between being shutout by Ohio State and shutout by Michigan, and, likewise, shutting out their respective offenses. I think I've got it figured out for any situation where a point is scored ... but not a shutout.
EDIT: Right after posting that, I figured a simple way to look at shutouts. Just add a point to everything. Duh. The only thing it changed is LSU is now the #7 defense (which is still too low for them).
so :Arizona: is up 42-7 right now over :UCLA: with 47 seconds to go before halftime. i really hope arizona keeps their foot on the throttle. lol
i wanna see weasel get canned.
Jerry Kill signs a 7-year contract at Minnesota, is that a reward or punishment?
:D :D :D
Charlie Strong says the release of the Call of Duty video game distracted the team from its Pitt preparation
Some rumors coming out of Ohio State. Urban Meyer to take over as HC of the Buckeyes, 7 years, $35 million. Could be announced as soon as a week from Monday. Meyer takes over as HC.....Fickell will be the defensive coordinator with Vrabel as a defensive position coach. Heacock is going to retire and stay on as an adviser. Meyer will clean house as far as the offensive staff is concerned.
Absolutely no idea what truth or fact there is to any of that, but that is what I've been piecing together throughout the night.
i dont think it'll happen. i'm liking what fickell is doing with that program right now. :D
Urban stating there has been no talks and no signing of a contract during his broadcast but who knows :dunno:
Well, it's pretty obvious that Urban is and was going to deny it. Besides the fact that Ohio State's season is still going on, and he's still sitting in studio and doing games for ESPN, of course he would never admit it until it was officially announced by the university.
drinking is not making this game go any faster
Sorry if this was already posted since I was gone this past weekend, I finally got to see this :D

rick neuheisal said this today, when asked about this week's opponent :USC:
(for anyone who doesnt know, if ucla beats SC, ucla wins the Pac12 South)
"We've got a chance to win the championship. We've closed the gap."
rich rod to be arizona's new head coach?
interesting....
Well, that has to give Buckeyes fans some hope. He didn't say that he would refuse it without thinking about if officially offered the job.Quote:
If Ohio State offers Urban Meyer its coaching job, "I'll have a decision to make," the ex-Florida coach said, according to The Gainesville Sun.
There is no offer at present, Meyer, currently a college football analyst at ESPN, told the newspaper.
"I'm in a good place right now mentally and physically. So if something happens with Ohio State, I'll have a decision to make. But there has been no interview. There has been no offer to make a decision about," he said, according to the report.
Oh bullshit. UCLA is in a position because they played a bunch of weak-ass teams. They beat 3-8 Oregon State, 4-7 Washington State, 6-5 Cal, got lucky with a 1 point win over 6-5 Arizona State, and beat 2-10 Colorado.
Meanwhile they got their asses absolutely bitchslapped by Stanford (10-1), Arizona (3-8) and Utah (7-4).
Closed the gap my ass. It's just called they played the fucking Pillsbury Dough Boy of conference schedules.
thats what makes it so hilarious. neuheisal actually believes that he's closed the gap between ucla and :USC:.
remember his full page ad in the LA Times? rofl
