i wish stat based progression played some part (or a larger part if its already in there) than what it does. after my qb's performance in my most recent game of this site's od, i think his throw accuracy should go up a little bit. i'm kinda confused though that i set my own personal record for passing efficiency with michael eubank, of all people, by going 41 of 46.Quote:

That is a bad example. Throw power is one of those attributes like speed that shouldn't really change. I could understand accuracy getting a boost if you are hitting 70% of your passes but some attributes should not change much over time and throwing power is probably at the top of the list.Quote:

I've also found it "interesting" for lack of a better F'ing term that the WR that slips the one that "should" be open. I.E. if it's cover to and your TE is running a deep post over the middle, he'll be the one to slip, not the WRs on the outside that are double covered. Why is the "open receiver" the one that slips? Just saying, if it's supposed to be a "cute animation" why doesn't the WR that is covered slip?
I guess this falls into the conspiracy of the CPU knows what you're calling and what WR "should" be open. Now, I will say I have seen the CPU WRs slip so atleast it happens to them too.
I've also had my QB slip on his drop back, actually one time he slipped so bad that he put his knee down and the play was over, that doesn't happen very often so it's not an issue, I like that it happens from time to time, I'm just voicing my concern about the slipping WR. I'd just like to see a double-covered WR slip, then I'd feel better out this silly animation.
Yeah, definitely wasn't me ... because it doesn't bother me that the CBs don't slip. They have enough problems with going the wrong way on certain breaks or routes that I'd hate to add more problems for the coverage.
I don't think it has anything to do with being open or knowing what play is called ... I've seen receivers slip when they weren't open. It's probably more that you're not looking (as much) at the covered receivers ;) Also, the outside receivers are going to be significantly better at RTE than your TE/slot guys (at least usually), so they'd be the least likely to slip.
we currently have a progression system that is universal and applies to every rating...... and its absolutely terrible. having separate systems in place for the passing game, receiving aspect, ball carrier aspect, player engagement aspect, defensive coverage aspect, and possibly the kicking game is the only way to ensure that you can create a dynamic stat/performance based progression system, that is capable of taking any style of play and progressing/regressing your team's ratings to better reflect your style of play.Quote:

If I'm on the practice field or in a game and I'm searching through my playbook By Formation, let's say Weak Pro I pick a play and run it. When that play is over in NCAA it takes me right back to Weak Pro. In Madden it goes to a different formation, no rhyme or reason.
Same holds true if I go through my PB By Play Type. If I was previously in WEAK I, then back out to select BY PLAY TYPE then select a HB Draw play, then after that play is over if I go back to BY FORMATION it takes me back to WEAK I in NCAA, but again in Madden it just goes all over the place. It's like NCAA keeps a bookmark where you where. I like that.
Once I start learning my Playbook I start memorizing where my plays are, formation and plays. When NCAA takes you back to where you left off it is more user friendly to me, than Madden which doesn't seem to go back to any set formation. It would be ok if Madden always went back to Ace Big or the first formation but it doesn't it goes back to Singleback one time, the next it's Weak I, the next it's SG, it's all over the place. So I find myself clicking through the playbook again, each time trying to find plays. It seems to interrupt the flow of the play calling.
I like how NCAA does it, not sure why Madden has to be different in this respect.
Great point Gigs! That is one of the items I forgot to mention in my initial analysis of Madden. If you are running a pro I tiwns when you go back into your playbook you should start at pro twins, NOT WHATEVER THE FIRST FORMATION IS in your book. It really hurts the flow of the game. I'm in dynasty playing against Memphis is a rivalry game. I'm Southern Miss's OC. Last game of the season. Blowing them out 49-0. CPU mass subs in 3rd qtr. In the 4th qtr with about 3 mins. to go, the CPU puts my starters back in. I'm not paying attention, QB gets sacked, broken ribs, out 3 weeks.

Without me searching all these pages anyone have any slider set or something to combat the shit-tacular run blocking? I was playing on Heisman, I have since knocked it back down to AA which has made it a little better (could be the placebo effect), but it's entirely to frustrating when you run a simple stretch play and lineman blow past linebackers to block a safety, what I find even more curious is this doesn't seem to happen as much when the CPU runs the ball.
Anyone have anything for it adjustments, etc?

zone play by safeties in a cover 2 is absolutely terrible....especially against shotgun trips like formations (ones with only 1 receiver on one side of the o-line)

in the first part of the vid (showing the qb drop back), the free safety recognizes the initial threat, but because of the aggressive zone coverage bug, he isnt able to continue to drop into coverage, so he moves up to cover a zone closer to the LOS. since my corner was already beat on the play, its an easy read for the qb to make. my free safety then tries to recover, but by then, its too late.
this bug needs to be fixed.

After taking a break, I got back into my dynasty in NCAA '13. I had 4 regular season games to go so I played the back-to-back which wasn't bad since I'm an OC and not an HC. So, I play my games, finish the season, and lo and behold, my (RS) FR starting QB won the Heisman! I didn't even know he was even a candidate as I don't typically click the Heisman tab during the season. "Gary Football," Gary Francis, also won the Walker and O'Brien awards YET was not 1st OR 2nd team All-American! He was a freshman All-American. He was also the 2nd team All-Conference QB. I have no idea how the game makes these decisions because I can't see how a QB who wins those 3 awards can be shafted in All-American recognition.
