As the college football season gets underway, we are asking the community to help us here at The Gaming Tailgate update our Stadium Sounds section.

While we do not know if/when the mode will return to the EA SPORTS College Football franchise, it's never too early to have the information updated. Plus, it can still be used in NCAA Football 14 and CFB Revamped.

There are numerous ways to submit info for your team: Printable PDF to fill out while watching games, Google Form, or posting here at TGT.

Even if you only catch one song in a random game, please submit it as it helps get our records one step closer to accurate and complete. Our goal for the year is to have several song items for every FBS program.

As you visit our Stadium Sounds sub-forum, make sure to check out our new Resources and Covers thread, containing links to marching band albums and covers of popular songs.

Continue on to submit songs, chants, & traditions for your school. ...

Utilizing open records requests and sources close to EA SPORTS, 247sports.com's Brandon Marcello has been able to uncover the latest news surrounding EA SPORTS College Football. Some highlights:

In line with previous reports, game development has ramped up in the final calendar year of a three-year development process which is still aiming for a July 2023 release. As of July 2022, developers were entering the final push in gathering art assets for all 130 FBS programs. Currently, on-air talent from ESPN (no names given or hinted) are recording commentary for the title.

Industry leaders expect EA SPORTS to finalize a partnership with an NIL group deal this summer. As mentioned in the article, this could include OneTeam's partnership with OpenDorse.

To no one's surprise, the game is being built on the Madden NFL engine but with tweaks and changes to fit the college game, similar to the formula for the NCAA Football franchise. The focus for year one is game design, atmosphere, and unique traditions for each program while playbooks will be more robust and team-specific.

Finally, in terms of game features, Dynasty Mode and Road to Glory will appear in the title, while other modes (including Ultimate Team) could be added in later updates.

Thanks to Freedom of Information Act requests, Matt Brown and his Extra Points blog have provided some early information on the development of EA SPORTS College Football.

Most notably, the company is still telling schools that "game development is in full swing, and the launch goal remains summer of 2023."

Per a memo dated February of this year, the development team has been gathering stadium assets and is also looking for obtaining music assets from schools. This includes band songs, crowd chants, cheers, and also when the particular audio is played during the game. In that same memo, the Collegiate Licensing Company stated that "nearly 120 institutions, athletic conferences and bowl games" have "conceptually approved participation," per Brown.

Click here to read Matt Brown's full Extra Points blog and listen to his podcast with early EA SPORTS College Football information that includes details on player participation, school payments, and game modes. Not surprisingly, Ultimate Team and Dynasty Mode are expected to be in the inaugural release of EA SPORTS College Football. ...

Sports Gamers Online's Mike Straw is reporting that Madden NFL 22 will not be receiving any additional significant post-launch Franchise Mode improvements as a portion of the Madden team has been moved to work on EA SPORTS College Football.

Straw is also reporting that a source close to the Madden NFL development team has stated devs are "stressed and frustrated" and that "It's not a good place right now." His sources have stated that they know this decision will not be received favorably by the Madden community, especially given how game executives have talked publicly over the last two years that Franchise Mode will be treated as a live service and receive improvements/features throughout the year. The two canceled updates were believed to include a full scouting tree as well as new scenarios.

It is unknown how many team members shifted to EA SPORTS College Football and also why they were moved. For example, is it to shore up the game before the rumored 2023 launch or is the game behind the development curve?

Credit to Sports Gamers Online for this story.

UPDATE - EA has provided a statement to IGN: We do not like to comment on rumors or speculation; however, we are committed to continuing to improve Franchise as a part of our ongoing Madden NFL 22 live service and beyond. This includes two upcoming Franchise updates that we'll deliver in Madden NFL 22. We will have more details on the updates in the new year.

SGO has also since responded: Myself and the rest of SGO will always stand by our original reporting. There’s no reason for us to not continue to do this moving forward. As an outlet started to help sports gamers improve and to bring them the latest on the games they love, if our reporting leads to positive outcomes for the gaming community, that makes it all worth it. ...
