    The Golf Club 2019 Acquires the PGA TOUR License

    Today, HB Studios has announced that The Golf Club 2019 will include the PGA TOUR license.

    As part of the license, TGC 2019's Career Mode will include Q-School, the Web.com Tour, and a 32-tournament season. The six licensed TPC courses coming to the game are Summerlin, Scottsdale, Sawgrass, Southwind, Deere Run, and Boston. The announcement video and press release do not include the mention of any licensed PGA TOUR golfers. Additional authentic courses will be added to the game while the remainder of the Career Mode will be fleshed out with some of the 'most well-crafted user designed courses.' The press release also includes some additional details on Career Mode including Rivalries and Sponsor Goals.

    It is worth noting that nowhere in the press release or video does the word 'exclusive' appear in regards to HB Studios and the license. However, given that EA SPORTS pulled Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR from digital storefronts and EA Access on the same day as this announcement, it would seem EA SPORTS has dropped or lost some, if not all, of the PGA TOUR license.

    In a story originally by pastapadre.com, EA SPORTS will be removing Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR from digital storefronts and EA Access on May 22. His belief is that the game is being removed three years following release due to licensing issues. (UPDATE: As of 5/21, the game is no longer available to purchase via PSN or XBL.)

    Considered by many to be one of the best in the series, the final version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf finished with a Metacritic score in the mid-70s, while Rory McIlroy PGA Tour scored a 60. After exceeding internal sales expectations, Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR became an 'evergreen' title and featured several game updates that added new courses.     The latest trailer for NBA Playgrounds 2 highlights the gameplay improvements coming to the game as well as disclosing new game features.

    Among the highlighted improvements showcased in the video are new player models, animation system, season mode, and lottery pick power-ups. Also mentioned are redesigned AI, dedicated servers, 4-player online gameplay, and new playground venues.

    NBA Playgrounds 2 Coming Summer 2018

    Via a trailer and PlayStation Blog entry, Saber Interactive has announced that NBA Playgrounds 2 will be coming this summer.Written by Matthew Karch, co-founder of Saber Interactive, the blog gives an overview of what is coming to the title.

    Expanding online play is a priority with the title, leading to the addition of Playgrounds Championship. This mode is a worldwide online league that will include solo and co-op leagues. Dedicated servers should improve online stability and which should aid the addition of four-player online games. The single-player experience will see the addition of Season Mode.

    The trailer begins with voiceovers including that of YouTube personality QJB, indicating YouTube personalities will once again play a role in the title. (QJB was among those YouTubers added to the roster in the original NBA Playgrounds.) The roster for the title will include over 200 current and former NBA players and over 400 selectable characters overall.
