• Notre Dame Speaks on Joining EA SPORTS College Football 25

Following the EA SPORTS College Football 25 teaser trailer revealing the school would be participating in the title, the University of Notre Dame issued a formal statement and interviews confirming their decision on Tuesday.

In confirmation with The Athletic's Chris Vannini, Notre Dame Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick said “It’s great for all college football fans to have the game come back. It’s long overdue, and I’m thrilled. It wouldn’t be college football if we weren’t in it, and I’m glad we found a way to be in it.”

The EA SPORTS College Football 25 teaser trailer included a work-in-progress screenshot of Notre Dame players tapping their famous 'Play Like a Champion' sign, which was also featured in the NCAA Football franchise.

On February 22, 2021 Notre Dame publicly stated they would not be participating in EA SPORTS College Football until athletes could be directly compensated for use of the name, image, and likeness. Northwestern and Tulane were also among the schools who publicly stated they would not be participating in the title, but are believed to have changed course. (TGT Podcast Ep. 31 focused on the news that some schools were publicly opting out of the title.)

Here is today's statement from Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick as shared on Twitter:
