The first one was a lot of fun. Similar in ways to the Lego games but not as kid like, less treasure hunting and more combat. Still has the puzzle elements. The first one had two different characters with distinct abilities that you had to use together properly in the co-op boards. I really like the fact you can do up to 4 players and I think that's offline too. It's on sale for $17.99 in Canada for pre-orders, $19.99 afterwards at normal price.

Loved the first one so much I pre-ordered the season pass the first day it popped up on the Sony Store. Which included a discount for PS+ owners.

When I go onto the PSN Store it shows I can rent the game but cannot purchase it. Am I not looking in the right spot?

It's a PS3/360 game. The only reason it shows up under PS4 is so that you can rent/stream it. It's a PS3 game being streamed through the cloud.

Every disc game also stores a cache on the drive. The cache is temporary as it will delete itself when games are no longer being played.

That said, I haven't upgraded but I essentially go digital on all my games so I'm sure I will eventually.

I'm not able to use the enclosure I got because some how I have to get the extension cable in there.....here is a picture of another guy's set up:

Also you will need this extension cable because it has to be a meter to be able to feed through under the cover and out the vent in the back.

Now I just need to find the right enclosure.

I was trying to show a buddy of mine through the new raid on Destiny last night and there was like a 15 minute delay between when the message was sent and I actually received it. Then, I log on this morning, and I receive a message from Doughty that was sent near midnight LAST NIGHT. That's like an 8 hour delay. :D

It keeps telling me I have new messages, when in fact I've read the message and tried deleting it...yet it keeps telling me it is new.

If I send a message and it actually sends..then it will say sent 5-10 minutes ago. Same when I receive a message. It says the message was sent 5 minutes ago even though I just received it.

It's pretty bad and has been since I have had a PS4. The only thing worse is the download pause game. Sony apparently uses Destiny's RNG to determine how well your file will download, especially if you have the audacity to use wi-fi. Sometimes it is 56K, other times it uses almost half of my broadband connection and in a rare case 75% of my 30mbps connection.

My parents got my son Destiny for Christmas but it says we have to delete the trial version before installing. I'm worried about losing the saves since they appear to only be online through Destiny servers. I will be ticked if our save files get erased. Why can't we just install on top of it? Not sure if I can even back up the save files with psn being down.

You should be fine. Uninstalling removes the files the game needs but not your saves.

You will have zero issues. Dynasty saves are all online and tied to your PSN account. The only way you could lose progress is to delete your character while online.

For those still having issues logging in, found this on GAF and it worked like a charm on the first try.


Go into your Network settings, and change your MTU setting to 1473, leave everything else however you had it.

You open up the machine. It's pretty simple actually. Don't think it voids the warranty, but keep the old hard drive in case.

You may also need an external drive to transfer your files to first to reload on the "new" JB hdd.

A flash drive will work. You can't back up full downloads on the PS4, only the game saves. You'll have to re-download everything.

I know this is more of an issue over on XBOX 1 as it seems to have a smaller HD, however reading online it says you should be able to put on average 20 games on the xbox 1 before the space is used up...at $60 per game times 20 that's a lot of money in just games. I own 7 xbox 1 games, I'm not sure there are 13 others out there that I'm interested in. I seem to have a bunch of HD space left.

I see videos about adding things like a 5TB external to the XBOX 1, do you really need that much space? If you owned every XBOX 1 title you'd still have a boat load of space...isn't 5TB overkill?

I know this is more of an issue over on XBOX 1 as it seems to have a smaller HD, however reading online it says you should be able to put on average 20 games on the xbox 1 before the space is used up...at $60 per game times 20 that's a lot of money in just games. It depends on if you are PS+ subscriber and if you download all the games or not. I download all the free games each month and buy the occassional digital only title (although more of them recently) and I'm already at 50% of my 1 TB. Basically, I would have filled the hdd that the PS4 came with.

However, if you don't download/play digital titles much you are probably fine for quite a long time.

Some games take up over 40 GB and we don't get the full 500 GB to start with. The size of the hard drive was a non-issue for me with the PS3 but with the mandatory game installs to the HDD I can see how this can add up. I don't think I have a lot of games but with demos and what I do have I have used up almost 350 GB already on my hard drive. I can easily delete some of the games I don't play and just add them back later if I want but some people may be limited on their bandwidth too. I can definitely see upgrading the PS4 HDD as being far more valuable than the PS3.

ENTER RANT :mad: call me old fashion, maybe it's b/c I'm in the customer service industry but I sure get annoyed the older I get.

.....so after reading online I'm wanting to get an external HD for my Xbox One as it seems to be filling up faster than my PS4. I look online on Best Buy's website as in the past ebay was good, but it now seems like a lot of items are not any less expensive on ebay. I search Best Buy's website for a 1-5 TB external drive, it comes up with thousands of them. I click on any number of them and they say online only. This pop-up window keeps asking me if I'd like to chat with a live help representative...I say yes, I asked him, is there any way to search online on the Best Buy website for a product that is sold at my local store (I give him my zip code) and then the website will tell me if they actually have it in stock or not. I don't want to drive to the store to have them tell me to buy it online.

He says, sure! Search any external HD, I do, I click on it and it again says online only. He tells me to put it in my cart and when I check out I can pick the option to pick up at store.

I do this, proceed and when I go to check out it says ONLINE ONLY.

I tell him the issue, he tells me to search for a different external HD. I ask him if I'm just supposed to lucky guess the one that will work? Is there not a way to narrow down my search? There are over 12,000 to pick from. He says no.

Then asks me again what my zip is, I tell him and he says hold please....boom he tells me, here this exact item 4tb external is at my local best buy and $130. I tell him great thank you and end the chat.

I drive up to my local best buy, I see plenty of people in blue shirts, none ask if I need help. I ask 3 of them where I can locate the external HDs, they all point and say the other side of the store...my journey continues....

Whiling looking for my item, I see 2 other employees, they are taking items off an end cap and throwing them in a cart, it was pretty loud and I was thinking damn they are going to break that stuff, it looked like cd players. I hear them talking as I walk past, "No, I'm serious as soon as my tax refund comes in, I'm outta this mutha!" The other guy asks, "How are you going to do it?" His co-worker replies, "I'm just going to talk off my work shirt and hand it to manager and walk out." :fp:

I finally locate them, no thanks to any employee, I see an entire wall of these things....the AMAZING thing is not 1 single drive has a price. They are all over the shelf, no price on the shelf, no prices on the box. They have all sorts of different brands, sizes, etc...

All the while I'm trying to find a price tag, these 2 college girls are behind me talking to an associate, they are trying to purchase a modem. They get to the point where they ask if there is a warranty, he says, "Gosh, I'm going to have to ask my manager, ya'll are making me work, no?"

I turned around and looked, I was like is he serious? I thought maybe he was joking....

They looked very embarrassed and apologized for asking, they said, "Sorry we just wanted to know if it has a warranty?"

He said, well no big deal, it's just more work for me.

So his manager walks up, explains the warranty to them and starts to walk off, I ask him for some help on the external HDs. I tell him I'd like to get one, but none of them have a price.

He says, which one do you want? I said, well it would be easier to make that decision if I had a clue as to how much each one was, there are at-least 10 different ones on the shelf. He picks one up, and walks off, then he comes back in a few minutes, hands it to me and says $109, then walks off.

I was like, um...ok...that was for the 3.0 USB 3TB Seagate external HD. I have no clue who much the others were.

Feeling confused and frustrated I left empty handed.

Maybe, I'm just old, maybe I was brought up in an era gone by...I have no clue how stores expect to make money when they don't want to sell things.

What really blows my mind is they will have buttons on their work close or sayings are their aprons, sayings like, "we're customer friendly" "you're my only customer" "I'm here for to help you"...maybe that's not STUPID to the rest of the world, but I don't decide where to purchase gas for my vehicle by finding the ONLY store in town that says "HELLO DUMB ASS WE SELL GAS"

I was in gamestop a few months back talking w/ the manager, I was asking him about digital games, digital downloads and how it would impact his store...he said his store is probably a thing of the past.

Today I called him and asked about a refurbished or used Kinetc for xbox one. He said, yes they sell them but no, not in the store, he said I'm more than welcome to come to the physical store and purchase it, they will then ship it to my house or I can just go onto gamestop.com and order it myself...kinda takes the store outta the equation.

Amazon offers both great service/shipping and awesome customer service in my past experiences.

Often times I will order something standard shipping, expect it to be delivered next week but end up getting it next day or 2 days later tops.

Too late for insurance but I do have a 1 year warranty. Will monitor for now. I really don't want to bring it in for repairs. All of my previous playstations have been great.

Got everything fully transferred and updated last night with the 2TB HDD. It's slightly tedious as copying save files and transferring to the new HDD you have to do it game by game; which is annoying. Re-downloading all digital games, plus all the updates to the games is another PITA. At least the disc install of the games is quick and you can just swap them in and out while things are updating.

Same here. The problem is replayability after playing the CPU a few times it gets boring. Now if we had a small TGT Risk group here to play online every once in awhile I'd buy it right now in a heart beat.

My buddy is working the dive casinos because he doesn't like crowds. He's been there since Saturday and has been labeled "suspicious" by the Golden Gate already.

Without too much detail, No 10 with hedges on 6, 8 and Hard 10 have him up $2395 as of a few hours ago. You still have to follow a few rules when things start happening but we haven't lost very many times - maybe 20-30%. Even then, the winnings from other trips more than make up for it.

It's a good system and we typically are only at the table for about 10 minutes. Win a few hundred and leave. We will literally drive to Louisiana, be in the casino for less than 30 minutes and go home.

You couldn't make a living doing it because, obviously, the casinos would ban you. It's nice to go once in awhile and come home with a little money though. :)

Yeah when most updates come out there are usually "random" issues for some users and/or with some games. I'd chalk it up to just random bad luck - hopefully the next "major" update coming next month doesn't f something up.

There is a rumor 2.50 will have external backup storage support. Not what I was hoping for, but still great for once a 3TB 2.5" SATA hits the market for a reasonable price and you don't have to re-download all the shit. Great news for people who have yet to upgrade yet, if true.

Yeah - if you do not have the dart gun you definitely should get it - its the only way I survived the last level.

Yep I download pretty much all the free PS games. Its a nice little combat game - guys are REALLY good at it though so I struggled for quite awhile before getting used to the controls.

The game would be better if you could chat and have an actual strategy - as it is its basically just you flying around not knowing what your "teammates" are doing and what needs to be done to win the battle.

I have them on all 5 of my controllers as a precaution since I had 1 that started to go South. I don't remember the brand I got but they were the only ones that Gamestop had.

They were sort of expensive compared to what I have seen on the Web but I didn't want to wait for shipping so I bought them anyway.

They have been ok (a couple have come loose but I had extras since they were sold in multiples). They feel nice and do improve grip.

Don't feel too bad CDJ. My thumb grips were destroyed after two months. I picked up BIOGENIC thumb grips from EB Games (Canadian version of GameStop). They are okay but they do come off pretty easy and feel slightly bulky IMO.

Correct. Just like the PS3, you can back up and restore from an external HDD now, but you cannot use it to play games off of an external like the XB1 yet.
