Marcus Theatres has a new special fancy ass theatre with fancy seats, screens, and sound. That would be a good movie to watch in it.

It is an IMAX screen? If is not i wouldn't see Godzilla in a normal screen it wouldn't do it justice.

Saw Godzilla in 3D... really good movie and I thought the 3D effects were really good. First 3D I've seen since Jackass and first for my wife... we both enjoyed it.

I too enjoyed Godzilla in 3D specially in the IMAX setting was pretty good. A normal setting theater it wouldn't do the movie justice. Godzilla in 3D is just that good.
I am off to see x men tomorrow for an early showing. Sadly just normal theater this go around. Wanting for Transformers for my next imax trip to Milwaukee. i've heard good reviews about so should be a good one.

Saw A Million Ways To Die In The West last night. The movie was good, but not a fall out of your seat laughing movie. McFarlane’s jokes aren’t for everyone, most go over the critic’s heads. Some didn’t like the story, but I did. If you're a fan of Seth's humor, it's definitely for you. If you liked Ted, you'll like this movie. For being a comedic take on westerns, it hits the mark.

Well i saw The Lego Movie last night. With low expectiation it was pretty darn funny. I pretty much laughed all threw the movie and would see it again.
Also went and say The Fault of Our Stars or Stairs ( can't remember) it's the chick flick movie for the month with the lady. It wasn't a bad movie, she enjoyed so its a win win. If you all need to earn some brownie points with the wife/gf or just need a movie date go see that movie 9/10 times they'll love you for it.
Any ways I"m pretty excited for Transformers though looks really good for IMax experience can't wait.
Took the kids to see How to Train your Dragon 2. It was good but not as good as the first. I'm a tough critic on sequels when I love the first though. Still worth seeing but it's not an overly special movie. A couple things I didn't like that my wife told me I was too nit picky on.

Still remember the day it came out. I was in grade 7. A number of my friends took multiple busses to get to the movie theatre... I wasn't allowed to go. Loved the movie when I finally saw it and still do. Nicholson was phenomenal!

I rewatched Kick Ass and just watched Kick Ass 2 for the first time. Without a doubt, they're easily my favorite comic book/superhero movies.
I haven't seen the first one but just watched 20minutes of 2 yesterday. Wasn't impressed by kick ass and stopped watching.

You missed all the "origin story" by skipping the original. With that said, I can see how people may not be into it. My wife can't watch it because of the liberal use of profanity.

I had an issue with that as well. I'll accept it in a real comedy and this seemed like a comedy but different at the same time.

I was able to see X Men Days of future past . It was a excellent movie! I wish I would have seen it on a newer DLP screen or I MAX. But i settle for the old budget movie theater since I missed it the first time around. I will defiantly catch this on blue ray when it comes out and watch it again in HD.
I also saw Transformers couple weeks ago and it was pretty good as well. Much better then haters on online. I would see it again too. My next movie will Be TMNT in August then gonna take a break for movies in a while.

So after watching the new TMNT movie it was actually a pretty good movie a few grips i had but that just because i was hoping for a a little more a story in the movie.
As far as the story it was pretty descent I just didn't care how they made the turtles from the orginal movies but thats ok but it is a remake. It was still a good story line. The turtles the selves were fun to watch the movie did a good job with each turtle and their traits except for Mikey IMO. He was a little over the top and just way off it seem like to me. Maybe because that was towards/aimed a younger crowd I dunno.
Now Shreddar was actually bad ass. His fighting was pretty good. However, he did look megatron . But was due to Micheal bay of course.
If you haven't seen it go see it. Pretty fun movie.

My wife & I saw Gone Girl tonight... excellent movie. Go see it.
We also saw The Drop a couple of weeks ago... another excellent movie. Dennis Lehane is my favorite writer and his writing in movies (Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone, Shutter Island) and TV shows (The Wire, Boardwalk Empire) never fail to deliver. This one is no exception.

I didn't watch The Hunger Games movies until just recently because I thought it was the next Twilight shitty movie. Another great movie in the series, and looking forward to the end.

I watched the the first 2 Matrix..........I mean, Hunger Games movies about a month ago. The 1st movie's ending was pretty anticlimactic but I still enjoyed it. The second was definitely better. I'll watch the 3rd and 4th movies too whenever they hit Netflix.

I feel the opposite about the first two movies. I really enjoyed the first one. The first half of the second one was boring as hell and there was no finish to it. It disappointed me for sure to the point I'm just renting the rest.

Cleared out some space in the DVR last Sunday. I watched:
About Last Night-Kevin Hart RomCom. I don't think many people here would be interested in it.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty-Best movie of the day. I really liked it.
300:Rise of an Empire-You can also call this 300:Athens Navy Edition. Not as good as the original 300 but the evil chick that's the main antagonist to the Greeks could get the D raw.
Riddick-I cut it off. It was going nowhere fast. It couldn't hold my interest at all and I liked the previous Riddick movies.
I've got Amazing Spiderman 2 and the latest Captain America movie to watch yet. Not expecting a lot from Spidey but looking forward to Cap.

I cleared Amazing Spiderman 2 the previous week. It's good, man. Garfield is really good as Parker/Spidey. The reboot KILLS the original 3 with Tobey Maguire. And the ending.......Oh, the feels.

My wife and I both enjoyed it... I'm not a huge purest (I liked the reboot Star Trek) so take that for what it's worth.
Captain America was a bit disappointing. I liked the first one although he needed a better nemesis. The second movie was just too long. Action movies need to be under 2 hours. I paused this movie at one time and was shocked there was 55 minutes left! The first half hour was slow and boring but it got a lot better after that. It just felt like it was at least 30 minutes too long. Editing would have made it a lot better.

I liked the star trek reboot as well. I guess by purest I meant I like godzilla to at least resemble the old big guy. I don't need a zipper showing on the suit or bad dubbing....just did not like that last one.

Watched World's End last night with Simon Peg. Terrible movie. What I expected from the movie but the ending was really disappointing :) I thought the could have ended it a little better, maybe with him actually completing the Golden Mile and it reversing the effect on all the people that have been replaced and killed all of the aliens or something. Could have had that map he had with some secret message on it or something. Really seemed like that's what they were leading it to but it didn't end that way.
I know nobody is probably ever going to watch the movie but put the spoilers on to be safe

Bradley Cooper did a good job
Saw Gone Girl. Way too long for an average movie. I had no idea it was 2.5 hours! It was weird as well as interesting but I think it tried too hard. This isn't a classic like Seven or anything like that. When a movie feels too long I can't give it a great score. 7/10.

I powered through. It really did get much better. The first half is really bad though. Too slow. It definitely picks up when the bounty hunters arrive. Too many "close calls" for my liking. I detest it when a TV show or a movie does the "You're going to die on 3......1-2-DISTRACTION!" thing. Everyone already knows they aren't going to die so what's the point and Riddick had at least 3 of those moments.

Pitch Black, Chronicles of Riddick right? Or is there a 3rd?

Transcendence
Godzilla
Ender's Game

2 Guns

Pitch Black is easily the best. If the 2nd half of Riddick was the whole movie (a little longer obviously) it would've been better than 2. That 1st half, pre-bounty hunters, was a complete drag.

I saw it last year in the theater when we went to Downtown Disney for Senior Trip. I really liked it. Crazy how Kevin Costner's character worked a miracle at the last minute.
And for some reason, I think the sexiest thing about Jennifer Gardner is her voice.
I just saw the Alexander, Crazy No Good bad day movie and she was the mom too. That was a cute family movie.

I got Draft Day for Christmas. It was pretty good. Very unrealistic in regards to the trades (especially the draft night trade that basically cancelled everything out), but it was entertaining nonetheless, especially during the draft when Costner is in the draft room wheeling and dealing and working his magic during the first picks of the draft.
I was sort of surprised how they just sort of cut it off there. I mean, I know it was called Draft Day, so it was going to pretty much be only about draft day, but with how much build up of the players (both rookies in the draft and veterans already on the team), I thought they would at least go a little bit into the season or give you some sort of idea of how the season turned out after all of that. But on the other hand, it's probably better they didn't. Not sure how having the Browns make this great run to the AFC title game or Super Bowl or winning the Super Bowl would have gone over. It is Cleveland after all. :D Even Major League and Major League II weren't ballsy enough to either have or show the Indians winning a World Series title. :D

We all know what happens next. Cleveland balls out led by Vontae Mack on D and the O by Ray Jennings. Bo Callahan becomes the next Manziel/Leaf.
I liked Edge of Tomorrow. A cool sci-fi Groundhog Day. I would have liked some more back story but it was fun.
Maleficent was good too. Not a great movie but an interesting twist on Sleeping Beauty for the family.

Saw Focus over the weekend.
Not bad (better than previews made it look), but really could have used some better writing in spots, especially in developing plot twists. Good acting, though Will Smith's character needed some development/fleshing out. Margot Robbie is easy on the eyes and at times she really looks like a twin sister of Jaime Pressly.

It wasn't bad. I saw it in IMAX back in August and got the blu-ray for Christmas. The only tough thing for me with these movies is I'm a storm and tornado nut. So even though I know these are entertainment for the masses movies, it's so hard to watch them and not shout out "that's impossible! That can't happen! A tornado would never do that!, etc." while watching. But, it was better than I expected. The whole video camera thing with the two brothers sort of detracted a little bit in my opinion. They could have still had a good movie without all of the "Blair Witch Project" type scenes with those hand held camcorders.

Yeah, Draft Day gets bashed for quite a few reasons, and the whole storyline revolving around the three first round picks and then getting them back as if nothing ever happened (plus extra) was pretty ridiculous and laughable, even for a movie, but damn it's still a good movie at its roots. After thinking he was gonna get screwed by Cleveland, they go and grab Mack and then also make it right with the hometown hero's son Jennings.

Any one go see Furious 7 over the weekend ? It the number one movie right now .. made over 300 milion!
I went it and saw it on Tuesday today for 5$ as I never go see movies for full price. Was a killer fast and furious movie best one yet besides the first one. But honestly I loved them even 2 fat 2 furious and honestly. I think again besides the first one I like Toyoko Drift more after watching it more... I hope they bring in more characters from that movie in 8 , 9 and 10. Yes there gonna be 3 more people so get ready.
I was a little disappointing in really no races , I won't say much more on what the scene was to keep fresh for you guys.. But I'd go see it again if I could. .. I'll be waiting the new box set once there all out on blue ray! Also they did a good job in saying Good buy to Paul Walker.. And no teaser at the end for number 8.

For me personally, they just really have never done much for me. Haven't seen it yet, but Fantastic Four sounds like a flop.
In a major blow for 20th Century Fox's plan to secure the fate of a key superhero franchise, controversial director Josh Trank's Fantastic Four opened to a dismal $26.2 million from 3,995 theaters at the North American box office after being rejected by critics and audiences alike.
That's one of the lowest openings of all time for a big-budget studio superhero movie, and, in a twist Hollywood didn't see coming, the $120 million tentpole lost the weekend crown to holdover Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation, starring Tom Cruise. Rogue Nation fell a mere 48 percent in its second weekend to $29.4 million from 3,988 theaters for a domestic total of $109.5 million for partners Paramount and Skydance Productions (M:I continues to be buoyed by strong Imax numbers).
Overseas, where Hollywood tentpoles often make up ground, the news was mostly grim as Fantastic Four launched to a tepid $34.1 million from 43 markets for a global bow of $60.3 million (one standout market was Mexico). Rogue Nation was easily the winner internationally as well, taking in another $65.5 million from 58 territories for a foreign total of $156.7 million and global haul of $265.3 million.
Fantastic Four was no doubt hurt by scathing reviews and a C- CinemaScore, as well as drama whipped up by the director. On Thursday, Trank tweeted that the final version of the superhero was not his own and that his version would have gotten better notices. (He later deleted the tweet.)
The Hollywood Reporter revealed in May that Trank's behavior and unusual conduct on set was a cause of great concern for the studio and producers Simon Kinberg and Hutch Parker. There were also reshoots to shore up the third act, according to insiders.
Heading into the weekend, Fantastic Four was expected to clear at least $40 million, although many expected it to approach $50 million. No one's sure what the film's start means for the sequel, which is already dated for June 2017.

This
Plus, the movie not being a part of the MCU hurt. If Fox would've played ball with Marvel like Sony and got it inside of the MCU, it would've faired way better. You probably wouldn't have a black Johnny Storm either.
The last 2 X-Men movies are both really good movies so they can stand on their own outside of the MCU (though having the X-Men included in it would be pretty badass). Deadpool actually has a better shot being outside the MCU since Disney would have it as PG-13. Deadpool needs to be rated R to be truly reflective of the character.
Marvel is rebooting too often and with the weaker franchises it doesn't make sense.

After two months of waiting my wife and I finally got a chance to see Jurassic World. Not a great script and the plot was somewhat suspect... but it was a fun movie to escape to for two plus hours. I will pick it up on BluRay on release.
Our whole family went and saw Mission Impossible Rogue Nation. It was really good. Just over two hours, not overly complicated and some good action. Of course there are some unbelievable type of scenes but this is Mission Impossible! The main chick in it wasn't super hot but she had nice blue eyes and she grew on me.

Inside out was a very good movie.
I really liked the new Star Wars movie. The two new main characters were fantastic. Having a great connection to the characters makes the movie so much better. It had a good amount of humour too.
I don't think Rey (girl) is related to the previous characters and I kind of hope she isn't. Reusing old story lines like Luke and Annikan being abandoned and not knowing their parents gets old. It was cool with the bad guy being Solos kid.
My biggest annoyance with the film was another death star narrative. Seriously? You did that in episode 4 and then reused it in Jedi which was a bit annoying. Now another one? I will be extremely pissed if the next one has yet another death ray that destroys planets. Seriously come up with a fresh idea!

I dunno what it was. Just wasn't invested in the overall story that is tied around the series. And I'm usually pretty easy to please when it comes to movies. Hunger Games blew this out of the water so far. I'll still watch the finale when it's out though.

I've gotten the Twilight type movie vibe from it I guess from all the hysteria surrounding it, which has kept me away.
Believe it does fall into the category of type movies that interest me...i.e Maze Runner, The Island, Cube, etc.

I thought the EXACT same thing with the Twilight vibe til I finally watched the first one and it was nothing like that crap. Yes, I saw Twilight this chick's house I was crashing at after a night of drinking and even drunk the movie was terrible.

So, is it safe to watch Star Wars now? Has the hype died down so I can watch it without being around 200 other people? For me, when it comes to seeing a movie in the theater, the fewer the people at the screening, the better.

My wife & I went Tuesday night ($5 night). The theater was still pretty well full by the time previews started but we were 15 min early and didn't have any terrible picking a good seat.

Pretty damn good movie, wife and I enjoyed it.
Will Smith man..dude can act
Saw the Revenant and I liked it. But it's also long and slow at times and won't be for everyone. Tom Hardy is hard to understand in the movie and can be frustrating. The last half hour let me down though and I'd drop my rating to 7/10.
They send out a large search party at night with torches on horseback to find Leo but two days later they only send out two guys to hunt down a murderer and thief who stole the money? Give me a break. All done to set up a final one on one fight with Leo and Hardy. That made zero sense to me. At that point I just wanted the movie to end unlike the director who wanted to drag it out.

Wow they made a new season? No, a movie. I enjoyed the series to an extent so why not. Well they pretty much just eliminated football altogether and made it a party movie and a below average one at best. Hot chicks all around but most if not all the nudity was male. There is also a goat rape scene.
If you are a fan of Blue Mountain State and can wait for it to become free on Amazon or Netflix, there are worse things you could watch.
If you are RAM. Well I probably had you at male genitalia and goat rape. I am sure you will end up at Walmart to buy the DVD.
Watched The Intern with my wife yesterday. I had no clue about this movie but it was really good. It was not a fluff love story although you would probably classify it as a chick click but it was funny and interesting. Robert Deniro and Anne Hathaway were good together (not as a couple) with Deniro as the old man Intern. Cute movie.

Anyone see 10 Cloverfield Lane yet? All the reviews I have heard say it's excellent.
Saw Zootopia with the family. Solid movie. Had a good story, good characters and the kids loved it. The moral message was really about prejudice /racism or acceptance of others. My biggest complaint was that it wasn't that funny. I thought it would have more jokes.

I saw the witch. The dialogue was kinda hard to understand. It was a slow build up. Looking back now I don't think I enjoyed it as much as I thought I would. It felt overhyped (as a horror movie). By that I mean what is currently passing for horror these days with all the gore and jump scares. If that's your thing you probably won't enjoy it. This is old school stuff.

I saw it a few weeks ago and would probably give it a 7/10 as well.
Did some reading on it afterwards and supposedly it modified a purchased script where the viewer was given more doubts on if they could trust Emmitt. Not sure if this was in that script or a fan desire, but when Michelle finds the farmhouse she goes inside and sees pics of Howard with Megan/Britney, revealing that Howard may have been crazy, but wasn't a bad guy - that Emmitt (possibly) was - creating almost a Twilight Zone-esque ending.
However, you can tell they made it a monster movie and the primary goal/point was that Michelle learns to be a fighter and quit running.
Saw Batman v Superman today and thought it was pretty good; maybe a 7 or 8 out of 10.
There's some logic to the complaints of the critics, but I think they've gone overboard in bashing this one. While I watch the DC TV shows so I know a lot of the characters, reading up on the movie now it seems they really made it for comic fans. I can see where people who aren't into the comics (I do not read them) or shows could get confused or turned off. The movie isn't as friendly for the general populace as the previous Batman trilogy, for example.

I agree 100%, I thought it was a good, borderline great movie. A lot of bouncing around in the first hour, but all that bouncing around is tied together very well for the second hour. Affleck was great as Batman too. I'd say behind Keaton, Bale and Affleck are 2a and 2b. Some great geek out moments for DC fans, some great setups for a prequel that probably won't happen, and a lot of room for growth in the future with Justice League.

I still think Guardians is. Civil War is right behind it, ahead of Ant-Man.
Spiderman 2 is one of the best of all time. Haven't seen this latest movie yet but that one is probably my favourite. The first xmen was really good as was Guardians. Those movies were fun, we'll written without being overly serious. The last xmen movies were poor imo. Taking themselves too seriously and getting a bit convoluted. First iron man, first Spiderman also very good. I liked the Hulk with Norton. Avengers disappointed me. First Thor was great. And Man was fun but wouldn't be in my top 5. Captain America has been solid.

Man, we disagree on a lot.
1) Spiderman 2 was fine for me until the train scene. After that scene, I hated the movie.
2) I LOVE the X-Men reboot. I liked X-Men 1 in the original trilogy but they got progressively worse. 3 was a trainwreck.
3) My top 5 MCU movies are:
5) Avengers
4) Ant-Man
3) Guardians of the Galaxy
2) Capt. America: The Winter Soldier
1) Capt. America: Civil War
4) I still need to see Norton Hulk. I've only seen Eric Bana Hulk.
5) Of all the Avengers, Thor has the worst origin movie and the worst sequel.
I loved the first Thor!
As far as Hulk movies the Norton one was a ton better than Bana. I didn't even finish watching the first one.
Finally watched Deadpool and it was really good. The most R rated Marvel movie for sure and definitely not for kids. But the humour and characters were great. I didn't even realize that was Gina carano in the movie. She was hot. Thicker in the movie but still looked good.

I never liked Alice in the glass or any other Alice movie or book. Quite frankly a lot of those "classics" like Charlie and the chocolate factory along with Dr. Seuss's stuff are all incredibly over rated. So much better stuff now I have no interest in those old wierd things.

Daddy's Home was pretty good. It's exactly what you expect. Will Ferrell and Marky Mark were good.
Saw the Talking Pets movie. It was pretty decent. The family really liked it and it's worth seeing but there isn't anything really special. The plot is basic and I thought it could have been a bit funnier.
