As always, vote for the item you prefer. However, also state how you would like both features implemented into the game and indicate any specific elements you would (or would not) like to see added for each item.

Custom Conferences 2.0

One of the more-detailed and well-received features of NCAA Football 12 was the revamped Custom Conferences feature. As is the way with all video game features, there are more improvements and additions the community would like to see to further improve the feature.

Among the community requests:

Ability to go above 120 teams: The feature currently allows for reorganization, but not for the addition of programs. In real life, UMass, South Alabama, Texas State and UTSA will be joining the FBS ranks but they cannot currently be added without removing an existing program. Being able to add five to ten programs would allow for the “what if” scenarios featuring the aforementioned programs and others, such as Villanova, Georgetown and other TeamBuilder-created squads.
Dynamic Field Art: When selecting a (new) Conference Championship Game location, the existing field art is brought over. For example, moving or creating a CCG at the Holiday Bowl (Qualcomm Stadium) brings over the Holiday Bowl field art. This would see a conference specific field art for the game.
Dynamic Conference Uniform Logos: Currently, moving a team will change the conference logo on the field art, but not on team helmets and uniforms. This would either add in the new conference logo or remove the existing (and now out of date) logo.
Ability to rename, remove, edit entire conferences: While likely an aspect existing conference partners would not support, community members have frequently asked for the ability to rename, remove, or edit (IE: logo) conferences.
Dynamic Conference Prestige Recruit Pitch Rating in Dynasty Mode
Ability to edit conference tie-ins for all bowl games

In-depth Create-a-Play

Everyone loves to draw up plays in the sand and NCAA Football gamers are no different. A create-a-play feature would allow them to make plays (and indirectly even formations) that do not exist in the game but do in real life. NFL Head Coach had a play creator where plays could be exported to Madden NFL 09, but the plays could not be used in Online play. If plays made in this feature could be exploits, many would not want them used Online. However, keeping people from using this feature in all game modes may diminish the benefits and reason for its existence.

This is a toss up for me, but I will choose Create-a-play.

Custom Conference 2.0 is a MUST. If I want to make four sixteen team conferences, completely change the names of the conferences, and get rid of the teams that aren't in those conferences, then I should be able to do that.

Also, for the love of god, allow the ability to change what conferences go to what bowl games (or give me the damn ability for a playoff already).

Basically, I should be able to mold the college landscape however I feel like doing so. There shouldn't be a limit on the number of teams that can be added (beyond the programming limit of 256, of course) and there shouldn't be a limit to the number of teams that are removed either. The college landscape should be like playdough in my hands, allowing me to play commissioner however I feel like.

The excitement and anticipation I had for the return of custom playbooks this year would only be exceeded if EA Tiburon brought back the create-a-play feature. Back on the PS1 you could only create 3 plays from scratch then Madden on the PS2 allowed for up 81 created plays, and it was fun as hell to create new sets and plays or enhance the existing plays to your liking. The ability to edit existing plays and to create your own legal plays including special teams, trick plays, and option has been my top wishlist item since it was removed around ten years ago.

Who wouldn't love being a mad scientist and develop the next great offensive or defensive scheme. The addition of create-a-play would increase the replay value of this game 1,000 fold so it is create-a play all the way for me.

Custom Conferences 2.0

I understand people wanting free-reign to use an In-depth Create-a-Play so that plays of their own design can be utilized versus the plays on-disc which gamers might either dislike or feel are broken. I get it. But when I consider these items we're voting for, I look at both the positives and negatives. There's a lot to be concerned about with regard to people either creating plays that "break" the game in terms of the CPU or other human players not being able to overcome plays (money plays), as well as plays that literally "break" the game in terms of a play potentially causing crashes or glitches which impair the normal performance of the game. At least a working Custom Playbook is built from plays which theoretically have been shown to not adversely affect the game's stability; there would be little such oversight for the kind of play creations which would be spawned by such a feature.

A working Custom Conferences 2.0, on the other hand, is relatively safe--though I know the initial Custom Conference in NCAA Football 12 had hiccups--and it also "future-proofs" the game by allowing gamers to make the conference moves that happen after the game is duplicated and shipped to stores. When we consider the description of Custom Conferences 2.0 put together in the original post here, there is certainly a lot to love about how it would work if implemented to those terms in future iterations of NCAA Football.

I would add one thing to Custom Conferences 2.0, however; the ability to edit Conferences and affiliations so that they are reflected in "Play Now" games and not just in Dynasty or Online Dynasty.

Like I said before ... with the culture we are in now with the sport, the more flexibilty, the better. Plus it gives you the opportunity to create things the way YOU think they should be.

if its really that much of a concern, then a simple and EASY fix would be to have an option in your online settings to allow/disallow created plays; which would automatically filter out people who had created plays in their playbook. if someone is willing to spend 10 hours creating one play that is guaranteed to work every time for a touchdown, then that person doesnt have a life.

i look at the :Hawaii: playbook, and it isnt even remotely close in terms of stuff that :Hawaii: runs in real life. sure there's a couple of signature r&s plays and some of the formations are the same, but there are a lot of plays and formations in the playbook that are never ran. additionally, some of the alignments of some of the formations are wrong. a CAP would give me the ability to correct this. this extends to everyone who has issues with their team's playbook.

i'll agree that CC 2.0 is a safer choice, but imo, the CAP has a far bigger upside. it brings more to the table than what CC does.

In depth create a play. Only thing that interest me about the cc 3.0 is the dynamic conference prestige pitch.

I always loved creating plays back in the ps2 days and I would play this game much more often if I had the ability to do so
