As always, vote for the item you prefer. However, also state how you would like both features implemented into the game and indicate any specific elements you would (or would not) like to see added for each item.
Online Enhancements
The NCAA Football franchise has been consistent in making features and modes deeper throughout the years – well, all features except for one: Online Play. Long considered the ‘wild west,’ the standard head-to-head online play format has not received any major upgrades since the move to next-gen.
Among the online enhancements the community has asked for:
Online Communities – New to Madden NFL 12
Random and/or Selectable Stadiums & Weather – To make each game different and take advantage of game visuals
Ability to Use Dynasty Teams Online – See who really has done the best job in building their program in Dynasty Mode
Online Depth Charts – This would allow users to set their depth chart once instead of making changes during each and every online game
Online Player Statistical Reports
User Stat Tracking
Improved Leveling-up Structure – Currently, leveling up involves a win-at-all cost mentality. EA SPORTS NCAA Basketball featured users gaining points towards leveling up simply for completing games with more rewarded for victories.
From Madden NFL, players who disconnect (regardless of score and situation) will get the loss and opponent the victory.
Elimination of legacy exploits and disconnect glitches.
Race for the Heisman (Award Ceremonies)
Perhaps the most prestigious individual award in all of sports, the season-long pursuit towards the Heisman Trophy lacks the payoff and rewarding moment of being named the winner in NCAA Football. A feature found in GEN2 NCAA Football, this would include a special presentation ceremony for the Heisman finalists and winner. (The same technology could be expanded for all award ceremonies and winners, spotlighting the most prestigious award won or a finalist for.) To build upon the feature, in-game commentary could reference Heisman/award contenders, helping to increase the pressure of maintaining a high level of play. Conversely, playing against Heisman/award contenders and hearing praise centering around them could increase pressure to not allow a memorable performance. This feature could be utilized in both Dynasty Mode and Road to Glory. The mode could also develop a tie-in with the Downtown Athletic Club and/or the Home Depot ESPN College Football Awards Show.
