As always, vote for the item you prefer. However, also state how you would like both features implemented into the game and indicate any elements you would (or would not) like to see added for each item.

Improved Commentary

One of the longest running complaints in regards to presentation in NCAA Football has been the commentary. Shallow commentary, long periods of silence and repetitive lines have been the focal points of criticism. Many gamers have suggested more in-depth commentary focusing on aspects such as top players, outstanding performances, strategy and personnel, game stats, etc.

Stadium Sounds 2.0

A feature that has helped users to recreate the gameday atmosphere and some great traditions at numerous programs, community members have asked for more improvements to the mode in order to improve functionality and experience.

Among the top requests for the mode:

Ability to use existing in-game sounds (fight songs, score sounders, etc.)
Ability for song to be selected randomly from a playlist for particular event
Ability to have song start at a designated point
More events: Score sounders (would play immediately before Touchdown/FG/Safety event), Halftime, Post-Game, Post-Game Victory, Opening Kickoff, etc.
Option to import Stadium Sounds list from previous version of the game
School list would default to last school selected while in feature
Option for song to play on road and play games. This would help create the effect of band being in attendance.
Dynamic Sound Location

Without question Improved Commentary. I want to be fully immersed in the NCAA game. Beside Heisman or Bowl Game talk, it feels like 12+ Play Now games. I am not talking about commentary that would rival NBA/MLB 2k and the Show. But at least something better than now. They can keep the same guys. But, I would like all brand new lines.

Good points, illwill.

I want to add that the Dynasty Bracket will feature an entry focusing on Dynasty specific commentary and immersion. This entry is solely commentary for the game at hand.

Improved Commentary

I know that some people love Stadium Sounds and it's a great way to help people personalize the game; for my own personal vote in this tournament, however, I have to go with Improved Commentary because I have never personally utilized Stadium Sounds or felt as though they were an essential part of my enjoyment for the game. The commentary in NCAA Football 12 is nowhere near as bad as it is in Madden NFL 12, but it obviously could benefit from special attention going forward. I don't know if it would be feasible to add in a second commentary crew to differentiate audio presentation over the course of multiple seasons in Dynasty mode, but at the very least the development team needs to improve how Nessler, Herbstreit, and Erin Andrews come together to tell the story of the game.

improved commentary

plain and simple, i want the game to sound like a game you'd listen to on the radio. i want to hear about what's happening in the game, why my team is having success in the current game and how successful i've been over the season, etc....and have it be different everytime, not the same canned lines over and over.

Was not sure
But for game at hand. I want Erin Andrews to have a bigger role. They could go over stats compared from 1st to 2nd half. Go over impact players more during game. Talk more about matchups more.

Improved commentary hands down. Need to be way more dynamic and organic. Where as when you playing dynasty, they will talk about the progress of the 2 teams currently playing this season. Whether they playing better then expected or worse. They also need to talk about star players or surprise break out players. Also would be cool if a head coach was on the hot seat, they would talk about it and where he might end up and who might be replacing him.

Improved Commentary x :infinity:

I have never even once used Stadium Sounds. Never had any interest or care in using it. Give us commentary that is actually fresh and is engaging or entertaining. As stated by illwill, look at the depth of the commentary that NBA 2K12, MLB2K, and other sports games have. NCAA's is horrible. I listen to the commentary in a new game for maybe a week max, then I either listen to music while playing, or play with the commentary completely turned off and just cranked up the PA announcer and stadium/crowd volume.

Improved commentary but the ability to import the previous year's custom sounds would be fantastic.

Improved Commentary :+1:

I'm with Iwill as it does often feel like 12 play now games. I can never tell the difference when I start Big10 play with PSU from the announcers and that is wrong. There should be more here and I'd love to see it addressed.

I know talking to :sf: that FIFA has a couple or a few sets of different announcers for their games. It would be nice to have two different sets for NCAA. I know budget and all affects this decision but it sure would add to the level of enjoyment we all get out of NCAA.

I agree with commentary. Only used stadium sounds the first time it came out and haven't since.

improved commentary all the way.

the devs hinted at commentary, more than hinted actually, both madden and ncaa, that commentary would be a major focus for next years game.

for commentary, they need to make sure the commentary fits the presentation. b/c the game is sooo fast paced, right now its hard to have banter that lasts a while. but if there was a presentation that really took its time to feel like a real broadcast, then realistic commentary could be used

Commentary is not that big an issue. Taking stadium sounds to the next step would be awesome.

Commentary. There are so many directions they could go with this, from more in-depth commentary with the same team, to multiple teams, to something pre-recorded for the menu screens. Lots of options, and a lot of use. Needs to be a strong(er?) focus.

Commentary: For the game of the week, Kirk Herbstriet (SP?) and Brent Musberger.
For ALL other games, let two other guys call the games. I think its Mike Patrick who calls the SEC game of the week and he seems fine. Anyone would really do besides Brad Nessler or Chris Fowler. But I promise if Brent Musberger, Kirk Herbstreit, and Erin Andrews all did the game it would be amazing. Maybe throw in during the game of the week Kirk and Brent debate the top ten. Throw in a random line such as that [insert team in top 10] have really impressed me this far or they look great on paper but I'm still waiting for them to prove it to the voters.

Commentary is obviously a big need, but for the sake of attempting to make the match-up competitive I went with Stadium Sounds.

There are just certain traditions that cannot be replicated in-game (due to licensing ability and costs) that Stadium Sounds helps with. I'd add that I'd like to see the dev team add in cutscenes (sans music obviously) for some of these top traditions (EX: students/fans jumping at Start of 4th for Wisconsin and during Anticipation at Virginia Tech) that would 'complete the tradition' once the user adds in the proper music for the event (Jump Around and Enter Sandman, respectively).

Anything to make the mode more user-friendly would be a huge benefit as many users have posted they like the feature but don't want to go through the bother of re-entering them every year. It's also why several of the top requests noted in the description are design-related (EX: starting at last school entered).

As for commentary, the game needs Nessler, Herbie & EA to discuss the game at hand (outstanding performances, strategy, etc.). That would fill the gaps that currently exist between commentary which now (except for a few instances) only recaps the play at hand or completed.
