    Well, gentlemen - Guess whose hand I shook Saturday night in Pasadena

    since I live a few minutes from Pasadena, I figured I may as well check out old town Pasadena which is just a few minutes from the Rose Bowl and see if theres a bunch of out of town fans for FSU and Auburn. I walked into Barney's Beanery to see if my friend who is usually there on weekends was there but he wasn't.

    I walk back towards the front door and in the booth/table there was the one and only...

    he was with one other guy who's name escapes me but he had a shaved head and goatee.

    Never met Ben (seems like a nice enough guy) but the man for better or worse was the face of the NCAA series to the online community for a # of years and as such he took allot of heat for the series shortcomings. I don't even know what portion of the game was actually his (if he even had a part). I think he's one of the lucky NCAA guys that they didn't give a pink slip to and he's on the Madden team now.

    I just made some FSU and EA small talk. I did make a comment about the sports video game community being the most bizarre subculture and they laughed as though they were just talking about it or I would assume its a major theme at work when they see all the online silliness as is.

    I did mention towards the end that I check out the Gaming Tailgate and they commented saying a few of your names and that you were good guys.

    went into Pasadena last night too. Checked out 2 of the local dive bars. Lots of Auburn and Florida State fans in both.

    Lots of Florida State chanting going on and the jukeboxes played "sweet home Alabama" and " eye of the tiger" more than I care to remember but most everyone was polite and having fun

    That's kind of weird that Ben was walking around with a microphone, but if he can pull it off, why not?

    Ben is a good guy who values community feedback and wanted the game to be perfect/great more than we do. As the face he took a lot of unnecessary heat, but I don't think it fazed him (negatively) one bit. I'm not sure who his partner in crime may have been based on your description. That's pretty cool you ran into him, ram.

    he was at Barneys again after the game tonight but I let him be. Checked out all the out of towners partying on a rare Monday at the end of the college season.

    and a friend of mine had to of course take a picture of me I didn't know about while in the mens room on Sunday night. I'm in the red shirt.
