This morning, student-athletes began receiving NIL contracts from OneTeam Partners/EA to appear in EA SPORTS College Football 25. Players who opt-in will receive $600 and a copy of the game.
Per Pete Nakos of On3, select top players were offered an additional deal to promote the game and announce their opt-in via social media. Some of the players doing so included Colorado WR/DB Travis Hunter, Missouri QB Brady Cook, Alabama DB Malachi Moore, Ohio State RB Quinshon Judkins, Texas QB Quinn Ewers, Georgia QB Carson Beck, and Michigan RB Donovan Edwards.
This evening, VP of Global Marketing, Communications, and Partnerships for EA SPORTS John Reseburg shared on social media that over 5,000 of the 11,000 student-athletes offered an NIL contract had accepted. (For reference, that averages out to approximately 37+ players per team.) Players have until approximately April 30 to opt-in to appearing.
It is reported that EA is focusing their NIL/roster efforts - at least initially - on the 85 scholarship players on each program, seemingly implying the expansion of rosters in the game to said 85 number.
What an incredible day. More than 5,000 college athletes have opted-in across more than 130 FBS schools...in less than 12 hours. The total keeps growing. Even more excited for future of EA SPORTS College Football! #CFB25 https://t.co/xw6K6F87yf
