- For those of you who were eagerly anticipating the June 29 release of the "G.I. Joe" sequel, your wait just got longer. In a surprise bit of movie-schedule shuffling, Paramount has pushed back the release of "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" from this summer to March 29, 2013.
- How the move may hurt movie tie-ins & partners
Talk about a completely shit movie. No movie worth a damn gets pushed back.
It at least looks better then the previous GI Joe movie.
Funny thing on Battleship is it was a HUGE earner overseas. They made their money regardless of how it does in the U.S.
I read an article two or three weeks ago that studios are going to be doing that more and more to avoid having disastrous box office results by debuting in the US first (or at the same time). Battleship was the movie used in the example. The studio knew it was going to be a dud from the get-go here in the states.
With GI Joe: Retaliation saying they are adding 3D to help with the take from foreign markets, that's more than a little concerning about the film's quality. I thought the previews made it look a lot better than the first, but you have to wonder if Battleship's fate + focus testing proved otherwise.
More info on the GI Joe: Retaliation delay. Some spoilers in article as changes being made relate to the plot.
I sure hope this movie doesn't suck for as much hype as it is generating.
I agree man. I'm excited for it. It's been released in England and stuff already and has favorable reviews all over twitter and on Rottentomatoes. I'm definitely gonna go see it the day it comes out.
I'm definitely interested in seeing Prometheus.

The dude abides.
Same writer as previous movies but the writer is also now directing. I'm cautiously optimistic from this trailer... though I'm afraid I'll be disappointed.
