Exactly so back on point...has anyone who's playing a coordinator checked out the sim clock yet? Has it been fixed to where the CPU has more than a 1:30 or less drive every time?
So you guys were the only ones that went to community day? I thought that it was multiple representatives from multiple sites. I don't give a shit how my post was taken I have tried to explain multiple times but I guess it's not getting through. You want to ban me go for it. It is obvious no one can look any further than feeling like I am lying. So either ban me or please delete my user name beacuse just like other sites that I stay away from if you are not on a mods buddy list you can't say anything.
It's not being on a buddy list. It's about being constructive. What you posted earlier was far from constructive, and again I said you have an informal warning from it, now just move on.
Come on man...quit fanning the flames. All you have to do is not name names and you'll be fine. Have you read Oneback's posts? He's unhappy but didn't name names. Just admit you took it too far and move on. Let's talk about the issues so we can relay them to EA so they can screw something else up.

in any case..
EA please fix the wide receiver blocking ASAP, dont let this be the final version !
I want to run the ball without feeling guilty or be able to defend it for that matter
Patch it, tune it , what ever, just please hurry up and do it !
Long story short I think is that people are confusing our efforts to provide feedback & how that feedback is used. Once we have sent it to EA, it's completely out of our hands.
Now personally I had hoped, and was under the impression that that feedback would be used in a more productive manner and believe me that before I take any more of my precious few vacation days to participate in these events I will be discussing with EA how my feedback is being used. I don't think anybody who went to the events would tell you that they are satisfied with how our feedback has been used.
The bottom line here is that you can offer whatever opinion you have about the game, pissed off, game sucks, whatever (and I would agree with quite a few of those sentiments right now) but attacking those of us who went to the events and/or even the individual devs to an extent is crossing the line and ignorant. Anyone who wants to argue that needs to take a look at how a large corporation really runs & get a clue.
Anyone still having problems with custom playbook or should i just recreate a new one?
So here is an email I got from EA about my eariler posts my response and the feedback. I've removed the names of the people involved, maybe something good will come of this, maybe not...my email was written at 3am so it is more of a rambling/rant style. I don't post this as a slam to EA but since I threw it out there earlier that I don't see new resources being thrown at gameplay, I have since been corrected...maybe there is hope. Only time will tell. Maybe this will ease some people's fears or piss them off more but if it is in fact true and you put aside the fact that I feel there was no real testing of this patch prior to release, the powers that be at EA are just as frustrated as you and I:
Hey Man,
Saw your posts over at TGT. Totally get the frustration, but I wouldn’t say that guys are not taking that feedback into consideration. I know redacted, redacted, and redacted have all been looking through the many feedback notes that you’ve sent through and have been looking at ways to incorporate it into the series moving forward. At the end of the day it is your opinion and you’re free to post what you want at this point which you have. But, I want you to know that you’re always welcome to reach out to me directly with your thoughts/concerns as well. Hope all is well man.
Thanks,
RedactedRedacted,
It's beyond frustration at this point, every time you turn around there is another game issue that needs to be dealt with or looked over to make the game remotely playable and patch 2 only made the product worse. The improved WR blocking fix isn't a fix at all, it's killing the AI so the player doesn't react thus making things unbalanced. Right now the DB either sits there and does nothing while in zone or runs backwards 15 yards when in man coverage, this isn't improved WR blocking, improved WR blocking would entail the WR actually blocking the defender. I understand there is no current ability to have assignment based blocking or to have X-blocker assigned to block X-defender which after what 25 years of making a football game is quite mind boggling as its the most fundamental element of offensive football but I digress.
I've sent numerous emails to the game play team about cover 2 only to get the following response from Redacted:
Sorry for the late response on this. Thank you for the information on the Cover 2 Defense.
You see many users including myself want to be sure that when they call Cover 2 the Flats will be covered. Against the Four Verticals play a more appropriate Cover 2 defense would be our Cover 2 Sink play. On this play all underneath zone defenders will get more depth and carry receivers longer to give more of the effect you are describing.
I really hope I don't have to point out the fallacy in this but I will...as a defensive play caller you do not know the offensive call and while I agree Cover 2 would be great if the offense only threw short 3-step routes or to the flat all the time, unfortunately football does not work this way, offense's have a tendency to throw deep from time to time...now in real life you can still call Cover 2 and live with the results, in NCAA if you call Cover 2 against 4 verts or anything where two receivers threaten the deep safety the result is a touchdown.
I've provided two notebooks full of information, sent a breakdown of defensive alignments, complete breakdowns of pattern reading coverage's including diagrams and while it's kinda cool to get a few of my plays into the game (some of which are un-useable which passed along as well) I'm not seeing what other benefit there has been to the amount of time I have spent putting this information together. At least not with responses like that above, listen if the answer up front would have been we don't have a way to make it work like it does in real life maybe it'd be a little easier to take but when the answer is as it was what response is there: oh that's great that you want to do it that way, however that's not how it's done and here are the issues it creates.
I've thought about sitting down and putting together a complete defensive coverage playbook including alignments and coverage calls and send it along to the gameplay guys but if it's going to be done the way they want it to be done and not the way it should be done, what's the point?
As for the game I don't know it it is due to limited play time pre-release but I don't remember seeing a lot of these problems back in February, but starting with the E3 footage you could tell there were serious issues with the game which were confirmed once I got my copy and now two patches later some of those issues haven't been fixed and others have been created. I know I didn't have to pay money for the game this year but when you add up all the time invested I have more than $60 invested and for the last 15 days my online dynasty has been at a standstill because of some of the issues with the game and the fact that members are able to complete a game against each other at a rate of 30%, this is unacceptable and now with patch 2 its only made things worse which means my online dynasty members that have played NCAA year round for the last three years are ready to give it up. We are now 2 months after release and the game is not playable online due to disconnections, and the newly introduced issues and now we will probably be asked to wait until a 3rd patch comes out in another month if ever.
I've been a firm supporter of EA and would really like to help make this the best sports game on the market, but the latest developments have really put me over the edge and completely see where some of the frustration/hatred of NCAA comes from with sites like Utopia.
The people inside the building that are making decisions on game play should have at least a fundamental knowledge of the game at a coaches level not just try to decipher what they see in a playbook they purchased off of coachteed.com or watched on film. There are so many fundamental problems with the game I don't know where to begin and while I was in the building I tried to put some of those aside and provide feedback that would allow the features being implemented function at a good level. I have a lot of knowledge about the game of football I would love to share to make NCAA better but it seems like there are a lot of roadblocks being put up to pass a long that information, which is where the "this is how we are going to do it comment" came from. I'm still in awe six months later how simplistic the system is for generating plays, there needs to be a lot of functionality added to that system. If you guys would make the game more true to life the game may actually become easier to the "Johnny Walmart's" as they wouldn't have to cover for the horrible AI.
I understand there are a lot of guys that work on this game and I'm sure a lot of hard work goes into it, but there is a reason why the community has been disappointed for the past 5+ years. It would be nice to see the level of detail put into the game play like SECA and 2K do with MLB and NBA instead of what seems to be a focus on making the game look pretty, I've got to admit though it looks really sharp...unfortunately like a women that is all looks and nothing else you end up moving on...let's get the looks with some sustenance please.
I completely understand if you guys are pissed at me for going off today, but at some point something has got to change as this patch is only one in a long line of issues, a lot of these issues of which still haven't been fixed since 2003.
Thanks for reading my novel,
OnebackSo here's to NCAA 13, may it be better than NCAA 12!Thanks for the response Oneback. I'm not pissed at all. I wanted to check in because I personally don't want to lose you as a community guy or a supporter of the game. As you stated, there is only so much that can be done to fix these issues you mentioned this year with tech, but don't take that to mean it can't/won't be fixed moving forward.
I think you saw this, but we are doubling the size of our gameplay teams and making it the largest team moving forward which will allow for greater improvements than ever before. I personally give you my word on that.
Let's stay in touch and can you personally send me your feedback moving forward? I'll make sure it gets to the gameplay decision makers. Thanks man.
I'll send my feedback because I care about making this game better, I'm still pissed about the current state of the game but I'm not going to turn my back on the community because I am pissed...I'll post my feedback in the NCAA Playbook section on TGT once I've done so, it'll be in the hands of EA to get implemented and working. I can hope that's what happens.
Thanks for posting that Oneback.

Sounds like EA just went Buffalo Bills of the early 90's with this patch...lots of potential only to flub it up in the last seconds and not win it all. Hope there is a way to avoid the patch, as I don't do the online thing besides rosters.
And for what its worth, I'm just the standard joe armchair videogamer coach guy...the game plays fine for me...because in the end, its a game.
thats great ! but they still better fix 12, its only a few weeks old
Oneback, good read, thanks for taking the time.
Here's the thing... I have e-mailed them, many different times, and offered to come down to their studios, w/ my R&S playbooks and knowledge, and teach them this offense and how to get it properly implemented in the game. Each e-mail is met w/ total and complete silence. As I use the same handle on every site I am on, it wouldn't be that difficult for them to have someone look up my posts and see that, yeah, this guy knows the R&S and knows what he's talking about.
But they continually ignore my plea to help them! And here's the kicker... I have never asked for one single thing in return. I just want the damn offense properly implemented in the game! And by that, what I mean is the offense would be fully implemented, not just 3 plays, each route and each option route would be correct and... all the plays would have the correct names. But again... these requests to help them go ignored. So... really... what else can one do?
I will admit that I wish the community day guys would post more impressions of the football games (some post more than others). I'd actually like to see a review of both Madden and NCAA here. I know I can post some knee-jerk reactions at times but I'd love to see more of that from the community day guys. Call them initial impressions but those initial thoughts are often interesting. Then you can track and see if you feel the same way a week later. Whether I agree with you guys is irrelevant, I'd just like to see more feedback either way.
I appreciate that you took the time to offer help to them, but I don't know you from Adam. Do they?
As an engineer that works in development, if some random guy emailed me with an offer to help me design notebook computers, I'd think it a little strange also..............
However, like I said, I don't know you, so maybe you have a lot to offer......here's the kicker........you can only help someone who wants to be helped. Until they decide to go to that next real football step and enlist help, it is what it is.
To be honest, no, they don't know me. But many people here and on other sites like this know of my knowledge of the R&S and this dates back roughly 10 years. {I've been studying this offense since the early 90's} I get messages all the time from people that say... I remember in 2004 when you helped me w/ this... etc... Like I said, just looking at my posts they would be able to find all the information they need to know regarding whether or not I know the offense. And I appreciate your analogy, but let's be honest, designing notebook computers and understanding an offense are two totally different things.
It just gets frustrating when you know you can help someone make their product better... and they ignore it. But, like you said... you can only help someone who wants to be helped.
Just FYI... at this point I would highly, highly recommend not converting old playbooks and instead just create new playbooks.
VERY peculiar issue occurred when I was going through my old playbooks one after the other... I can almost guarantee that it was somehow merging the first two. Then, the third one I looked at was a defensive playbook and it said I had 399 plays selected and 34 formations (there aren't 34 defensive formations available) when it only showed 12 selected formations, and at least two of the original ones I had selected were missing.
Again, I can't stress enough, don't convert an old custom playbook... it will only create additional possible headache for you.
ya... the problem is that they have a paid member of the staff there doing the job you want to "help" them with...i'd imagine he and any of his friends that work in the studio would block any of your attempts to help, for fear of making them look stupid or bad or whatever...
if you could package your ideas into a packet of info that someone could easily read and understand, then submit it to the guy who does that job you might have some success...he could use your info/ideas without feeling threatened or showed up
i believe the guy you need to get with was on the "making of" show episode 2... when they went to show the GT coach the work they did on option plays
