    Navy also surprising, only trailing Ohio State 33-28 at halftime in game 2 of the Veterans Classic.

    Navy came up short, but a respectable 78-68 loss to a more talented Ohio State squad is nothing to be ashamed of.

    I'm confused. There's talk of college basketball but my calendar doesn't say March.

    You will listen to talk of college basketball before March and you will like it!

    Pretty happy with WVU's performance last night. Reserves played most of the game because it was a total blowout. Always nice to see that kind of play early in the season and them not struggle against a team they shouldn't struggle against. We have a small test against Illinois on the 24th, but the real first team is an away game against Virginia on their home court. They have Ohio State and Iowa before us so we'll see how good they actually are after those two games, but should be interesting. Lot of people are expecting BIG things from this WVU team (picked to finish 2nd in the Big 12 by pretty much everyone) and being ranked in the top 25 to start the season is something that hasn't happened for WVU in quite a while.

    UConn loses again, falling 64-61 to Northeastern. God I love seeing UConn get taken down a bunch of pegs.

    This is the proper time to rush the court.

    Now just hope those young men continue to play like that and give that team a chance at the tourney.

    From a women's game the other night, Louisville outsmarts Duke at the start of the third quarter.

    Not only were they down 14 with a minute+ left, Nevada was also down 25 at one point before rallying.

    And New Mexico shows how important missing FTs can be. New Mexico went 4-10 or something like that in that final minute of play and gave Nevada the ability to come back. Granted Nevada made like three 3-pointers that never go in in a million years but still, New Mexico makes even 60% of those FTs and it's a done game.

    The FT shooting hurt, but surprisingly they didn't have turnovers in the last minute. You'd think that a big comeback like that would feature some giveaways.

    WVU makes the #1 and undefeated team in the nation, Baylor, look like an unranked crap team with an 89-68 win at home. WVU forced 29 turnovers, the most by a major conference team so far in the year.

    Have high hopes for this team. Their press is ridiculous this year.

    and the plucky sub .500 Oklahoma Sooners wander into Morgantown as huge underdogs. Coming back from what should have been an insurmountable lead, OU takes the mighty West Virgina to overtime and comes away with a victory, special thanks to Jordan Woodard (he more than made up for the missed FT that would have won it in regulation).

    Oh, somewhere in this favored land a couch is burning bright,
    The band is playing Boomer Sooner, and somewhere Huggs feels plight;
    And somewhere I am laughing, and somewhere Mors will shout,
    But there is no joy in Morgantown—the mighty Mountaineers have struck out.
