    Smart Watches

Does anyone have one? Are they a waste of money and what would you recommend if you do like them? I'm just trying to think of birthday gift ideas for my wife or even a Christmas gift. Nothing too expensive either - those apple ones are crazy $$.

I have a Samsung Gear 2. I got it about a year and a half ago for around $300, iirc.

It is ok. Mostly a novelty/toy. I don't need it or rely on it at all and I wouldn't really miss it if it broke tomorrow.

Not a ringing endorsement, I know.

Definitely not a ringing endorsement but I'm glad to hear truthful opinions. I was thinking more along the Pebble series which is around $100 or so.

Waste of money, IMO. Buying her a smart watch isn't going to make her put more effort into Christmas or birthday sex.

I don't like wearing watches so I don't have a desire to get one.

Yeah the concept seems dumb - have we really gotten so..... lazy we cannot even bother to pull out our smart phones from our pockets now. I wear a watch it tells the day/time and that's all I need it to do.

Floated the idea out there and it wasn't well received. Will not be making the birthday list.

Ok, I have thought of 3 useful aspects of smart watches (not trying to change your mind Rudy).

    1) it vibrates when I get out of range of my phone. This has kept me from forgetting to bring my phone when I leave the house.

    2) GPS on your wrist. Safer than looking at your phone.

    3) Caller ID on your wrist. Again, safer when driving than fumbling for your phone only to find our you don't want to answer it.

Other than that - see my original post.

    4) counts the number of steps has taken in a day that gets inflated from jerking off.

Yeah, I thought about buying watches for all the girls at the local rub & tug to see how many miles they jerk off a day.

It could also be useful in deciding if you want a happy ending.

"Only 2 miles today, Sota? I'm in!"

"Holy shit, Ahn, 24 miles today?!? No thanks!"

I think it is nice to quickly check an email on your watch. My wife often has the phone in her purse. Still a potential Christmas idea if she warms up to it more.
