    Pelini is gone.

Reports are that Clemson OC Chad Morris is going to take the head job at SMU.

Neal Brown expected to be announced on Monday as the new head coach at Troy. Brown is the OC at Kentucky, previously OC under Tuberville at Texas Tech. He was also OC at Troy during it's conference championship run several years ago.

People in Nebraska tend to frown on giving up 400+ yards to a single player and 59 points. The "Black shirts" were giving up tons of yards and points and Pelini is a defensive guy. No BCS appearances and a terrible record against top 25 teams.

Monte Kiffin was once the DC for Nebraska in the 70's.

I thought he needed to make some staff changes, but was not on board with firing him. Firing a coach who wins nine games a year shows a lack of perspective by fans and athletic department, IMO.

    Buffalo hires Wisconsin-Whitewater's Lance Leopold.

Jim McElwain rumored to be leading candidate at Florida.

Hell of a jump for Leopold, going from Division III straight to FBS. It'll be interesting to see what he can do at Buffalo. It'll also be interesting to see when he leaves Whitewater (with them currently in the middle of the Division III playoffs), if it'll be instant or after the D3 playoffs.

If it is indeed instant, I wonder if that'll have an effect on Whitewater in the playoffs. Regardless, it'll probably be Whitewater vs. Mount Union in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl for the umpteenth year, but will Whitewater be able to keep it together and take on another championship with Leopold gone?

If I'm a Buffalo fan, I'm good with taking a risk like going with a proven head coach and seeing what he can do at a higher level.

One of my first thoughts after hearing Pelini was fired was that there were going to be 'Lane Kiffin to NU' jokes.

A few guys on Twitter are suggesting that Kansas should throw every dollar they have at Pelini. I tend to agree with that. A player's coach that knows the area.

Bill Blankenship has just been given the ax at Tulsa. Lasted four seasons, posting a 24-27 record during that span.

I just hope can keep Cutcliffe in Durham. Dude has turned a doormat into a solid borderline Top 25 club.

    Fuck that picture

Granted I thought Bo Pelini should stay and fire his coordinators, he refused to do that, and the fact that he has a .320 winning percentage against top 25 teams means it's time for a change. His high winning percentage overall was thanks to facing teams with an overall combined record of under .500.
    The dude abides.

Michigan to fire Hoke later today; struggling to find next coach

Multiple sources I spoke with told me Jim Harbaugh has already told Michigan that he is not a candidate.

Sources tell us that Michigan has reached out to Butch Jones as well. Jones will not be a candidate at Michigan.

It is our understanding from sources at Michigan that there is significant disagreement within the building in Ann Arbor regarding the potential candidacy of Les Miles. Hackett very much considers Les a friend and a candidate he would like to pursue. Others in the department do not believe this is in the best interests of Michigan and fear that Les would publicly acknowledge their interest but ultimately choose to remain at LSU, giving the Michigan search a very public black eye.

Multiple sources we spoke with feel Michigan will ultimately wind up going “outside the family” for their next head coach.
