Oscar scored a first half brace and Eden Hazard and Didier Drogba each converted penalties as Chelsea rose to 3rd in the Premier League table with a convincing 4-1 win at White Hart Lane against their London rivals from Spurs. The match turned in the 36th minute when a poor challenge by Kyle Walker took down Hazard in the area. Walker was sent off and Hazard put the ensuing penalty past Hugo Lloris to give Chelsea a 2-0 lead.

Chelsea will visit Bury FC, who are currently 7th in The Football League 2's table, next Saturday in the 3rd round proper of the FA Cup. Expect the Blues to field a squad of substitutes and reserves.

CFC announced that they have signed 16-year-old German national Toni Maier (40-52 OVR, 68-92 POT) to a youth contract. The club has also signed Brazilian teenager Raul Acuna, 16, (40-54 OVR, 67-93 POT) to their Youth Academy. Additionally, Chelsea have signed 16-year-old England native Nicky Hugill (62 OVR) from their Youth Academy to a senior squad contract. The club stated that Hugill will be offered for loan immediately.

A number of Chelsea boys made their senior squad debuts on Saturday in Bury as Jose Mourinho played a side consisting of mostly substitutes and reserves in his club's opening FA Cup fixture of the season. Among those debuting for the Blues were Lewis Baker, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Andreas Christensen, Todd Kane, Isaiah Brown and newly-minted professional Nicky Hugill. Hugill, the 16-year-old who was only recently signed from the club's Youth Academy, came on for the final 2 minutes of stoppage time after Didier Drogba, who was brought on late to close the game, put the result to rest.

Loic Remy scored on a half volley of a parried shot in first half stoppage time and Drogba used the additional minutes in the second half to slot one into the bottom left corner and secure a 2-0 result for Chelsea over Bury the hopeful League 2 competition.

The Blues (9-9-2) will visit Swansea City (2-10-8) next Saturday at Liberty Stadium. Chelsea were the victors, 2-1, when the clubs played at Stamford Bridge on September 27.

Diego Costa pushed his league-leading goal total to 12 by scoring a first half brace as Chelsea were 2-1 winners at Liberty Stadium on Saturday. Costa scored with a powerful header of an Eden Hazard cross and then, just 2 minutes later, beat the Swansea keeper with a 15 yard laser that changed direction after skimming a defender's outstretched leg. The Blues unbeaten streak has reached 12 in the Premier League, since a 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford on October 25. The Blues are unbeaten in 16, across all competitions since the loss to the Red Devils.

Chelsea (10-9-2) will clash with Newcastle United (10-6-5) at Stamford Bridge on Sunday the 25th in a critical match as the sides are separated by just 3 points in the league table.

In an very entertaining match at Stamford Bridge between two clubs vying for Champions League positions, Chelsea and Newcastle United played to a 2-2 draw on Sunday. Chelsea striker Diego Costa continued his run of form with another brace to lead the Blues. The Spanish international scored on a towering header into the right side of the net to level the score minutes before half time and then struck from 17 yards after the break to give his side the lead. Cieck Tiote knotted the score, however, and the Magpies escaped West London with a point in the bag.

Eden Hazard suffered a sprained ankle in the 32nd minute and was replaced by Willian at the half. Hazard is expected out for 3 weeks.

Chelsea will play at the Bridge on Saturday, which also happens to be Transfer Deadline Day, against Sheffield Wednesday in the 4th Round Proper of the FA Cup. The Owls are currently 7th in the Football League Championship, the second tier in England's football system.

By the time Phil Jagielka pulled Loic Remy down in the 19th minute after he had gotten behind the Everton back line, Chelsea had already built a 2-0 lead with a lineup that certainly was deployed with Saturday's clash with Manchester City in mind. The Blues never blinked and made quick work of the Toffees with a 4-1 result on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge.

Remy recorded a hat trick while Oscar scored a goal and added an assist, Schurrle had a pair of assists and Chelsea demolished the club that had beaten them in the Capital One Cup and drawn with them at Goodison in their previous league meeting.

Chelsea (11-11-2) are currently third in the league table and trail second placed City (15-5-4) by six points. They can cut that deficit in half with a result at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. That will be a tall order as the Citizens were 4-0 victors in their previous clash at Etihad Stadium on September 20.

Amazing game with City. I'll let the video speak for itself.

Next up for Chelsea is the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night at Vicente Calderon Stadium in Madrid. This match has huge significance beyond this season's UCL because of the past. Last year, Atletico eliminated Chelsea in the Semi Finals of this competition. They did so, in part, by playing Thibaut Courtois who had been on loan from Chelsea for 3 seasons. They played Courtois despite a clause in his loan agreement that stated that they were not to do so should the clubs meet. The agreement was reviewed by UEFA who determined it was not valid for their continental competitions (these type of agreements are common in England and are upheld by the FA).

When the season was over, and the Summer transfer period began, Chelsea gave Atletico the proverbial middle finger by not renewing the loan agreement for Courtois; opting instead to keep him at Stamford Bridge. The Blues didn't stop there though. They bought Atletico Left Back Filipe Luis, widely considered the best in Europe last year, and Atletico Striker Diego Costa. Costa has proven to be a terror thus far in the Premier League (he leads the league in goals) and has become a major force at the fromt of Jose Mourinho's 4-5-1 formation.
