Chelsea have signed CB John Terry, 34, to a one-year contract that will pay the club Captain 90k pounds per week. Terry joined the club's youth squad at age 14.
He is considered to be one of the best central defenders of his generation. Terry was named UEFA Club Defender of the Year in 2005, 2008 and 2009, PFA Players' Player of the Year in 2005, and was included in the FIFPro World XI for five consecutive seasons, from 2005 to 2009. He was also named in the all-star squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the only English player to make the team. He wears the number 26 shirt for Chelsea.
Terry is Chelsea's most successful captain, having led them to three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups and a UEFA Champions League since 2004. He is one of five players to have made over 500 appearances for Chelsea and is also the club's all-time highest scoring defender. In 2007, he became the first captain to lift the FA Cup at the new Wembley Stadium in Chelsea's 1–0 win over Manchester United, and also the first player to score an international goal there, scoring a header in England's 1–1 draw with Brazil.
Terry missed most of the 2014-15 season with a knee injury.
Chelsea have added the following players to their youth squad:
Germany
Andreas Weber age 15 (38-52 OVR, 64-88 POT)
Marco Morys age 15 (40-54 OVR, 63-87 POT)
Marco Stahl age 15 (39-51 OVR, 66-88 POT)
Notes: The club announced on June 7, 2015 that they will allow Gael Kakuta to leave on a free transfer when his contact expires at the end of the month.
Chelsea announced on June 30, 2015 that CB Gary Cahill would not be under contract when the Summer transfer period begins on July 1st. The two sides have been unable to reach an agreement after more than 6 weeks of negotiations.
Manchester United's Louis van Gaal was named Barclays Premier League Manager of the Year.

The top 2 sides from each group as well as the 2 best 3rd place nations advance to the knockout stage. USA were unlucky with their finishing on Sunday in their opening group stage match with Chile. Manager Jose Mourinho looked on with anguish as his forwards found the woodwork four times over the 90 minutes and Chile prevailed 2-0. The match started terribly for the Americans when Chile went ahead just 33 seconds in and their luck did not improve thereafter. USA will need to regroup quickly as they face Argentina on Thursday in the second of 3 group matches.

USA Assists: Bradley
In one of the biggest wins in USMNT history, the United States upset Lionel Messi and Argentina on Thursday in the Copa America, 2-1. Clint Dempsey scored in the 30th minute to give the US the lead but Messi would equalize just before half time. In the 70th minute, Michael Bradley sunk the Argentinians when, on a set piece, the ball deflected to him at just inside the 18-yard line. Bradley shot a laser through heavy traffic that ricocheted of a defender and into the Argentine net. The Americans would survive the final 20 minutes to secure a big 3 points that puts them on the brink of moving to the knockout phase.
A draw against Venezuela in their final group stage match will be enough to assure USA a spot in the Quarter Finals.

The Blues have also, reportedly, agreed with German giants Bayern Munich on a massive transfer fee that would bring CB Jerome Boateng, 26, to Stamford Bridge as a replacement for Gary Cahill who left the club on a free transfer. Boateng is said to be in negotiations with the West London side on a new contract to complete his move from Germany. Meanwhile, Cahill has yet to find a new club.

It was a disappointing season debut for Chelsea as they lost a Premier League match under Jose Mourinho for just the third time at Stamford Bridge in his 6+ total seasons with the Blues. Previously, Chelsea had only lost to Sunderland in April 2014 and to Crystal Palace in May 2015 but Everton spoiled the Monday night opener, 2-1.
Chelsea will visit St. Mary's Stadium on Saturday where they will face Southampton who were 3-1 winners at The Boleyn Ground over West Ham last weekend.

Chelsea bounced back strong from a bitter 2-1 opening defeat to Everton with a 3-0 trouncing of Southampton on Saturday. In the week leading up to the next Saturday's match (Hull City at Stamford Bridge), Chelsea managed to make several transfer moves.
19 year old center back Anrdeas Christensen (58 OVR) was sent to Dagenham & Redbridge of England's Football League 2 for a sum of just 70,000 Pounds; 18 year old striker Izzy Brown (64 OVR) was sent on a seaon-long loan to Middlesbrough FC of England's Football League Championship; 26 year old full back Ryan Bertrand (74 OVR) was sent to 1. FSV Mainz 05 of Germany's Bundesliga for a transfer fee of 3.2M Pounds; 27 year old attacking midfielder Marko Marin (80 OVR) was sent to Premier League rival Manchester City for 12M Pounds and finally, Willian (82 OVR) was sent with 16M Pounds to Manchester City in exchange for 29 year old Spanish attacking midfielder David Silva (88 OVR).
Silva is expected to take over the central attacking role with Oscar moving to the right side and Eden Hazard staying on the left. Silva will be available for selection by Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho this weekend and the deals with City may not be done either. Chelsea are said to have agreed with the Sky Blues on a fee that would send much-maligned striker Fernando Torres (83 OVR) to Manchester. The deal is pending agreement on a new contract for Torres.
Silva's deal with the Blues is for 2 years and will pay him 170,000 Pounds per week. Even with all of those shake ups, Chelsea managed to agree to a new contract with Eden Hazard's brother, Thorgan Hazard (78 OVR). Thorgan's deal keeps the 22 year old tied to the club through the 2018-19 season and will pay him 70,000 Pounds per week. Chelsea have also announced that they have made Mohamed Salah available for loan.

Chelsea were easy winners again on Saturday as they closed out the month of August with a 3-0 result over Hull City at Stamford Bridge. Former Manchester City man David Silva impressed in his debut for the Blues with several near misses and by assisting on Diego Costa's match winning goal in the 53rd minute.
Chelsea completed several more transfers before the window slammed shut on Monday. 20 year old midfielder Mario Pasalic (72 OVR) was sent to Nottingham Forest of the Football League Championship on a season-long loan; Chelsea added 22 year old English striker Connor Wickham (75 OVR) after agreeing to a fee of 5.25M Pounds with Sunderland; The Blues sent 23 year old forward Christian Atsu to Germany's Bayer Leverkusen for a season long loan with the Bundesliga side and they finally rid themselves of former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres (83 OVR) by agreeing to a 9.5M transfer with Manchester City.
Torres scored just 20 Premier League goals in 111 appearances for Chelsea after joining the West London side from Liverpool during the 2010-11 season. Torres, 31, had scored 65 goals in 102 appearances with the Reds before moving to Stamford Bridge for a whopping 50M Pounds.
In total, there were 167,375,000 Pounds spent on Deadline Day. Chelsea spent 51.25M Pounds in the Summer window while bringing in 30.695M from outgoing transfers.
Chelsea will visit Morecambe FC on Tuesday night in the 2nd Round of the Capital One Cup. The Shrimps are currently 16th in Football League 2.

For all of the struggles that Chelsea have experienced in their first 5 Premier League matches this season, there have been no such trials in their 3 cup ties. With wins over Morecambe (3-0) and Fenerbahce (4-1) under their belts already in domestic and continental cup competitions, the Blues destroyed Blackburn Rovers 6-0 in the 3rd Round of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday. Loic Remy led the charge scoring a hat trick for Chelsea. Full back Cesar Azpilicueta suffered a bruised shoulder in the win and is expected to miss the West Londoners next 2 fixtures, making things difficult with Filipe Luis (broken toe) already down for another 2 months.
The Blues have drawn to host Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on October 28 in the League Cup's Round of 16. But, up next, Chelsea (2-1-2) will travel to Villa Park to face 5th placed Aston Villa (2-2-1) in Premier League action.
