    Florida Knocks off Oregon 41-34

After a goalline stand that stopped Oregon at the 1 yard line on 4th & goal, Florida found themselves in a tie ball game at 34 apiece, with 6:50 remaining and 99 yards away from possible victory. In a game that was either feast (scoring) or famine (interceptions), the Gators coaches knew they had to score on this drive if they wanted to stay in the ball game. On Florida's ensuing drive, the Gators took 19 plays to go 99 yards in 6:02 to take finally take the score on a 1 yard run by HB Randall Williams to take the lead 41-34.

That left Oregon with 48 seconds on the clock with two timeouts. The Ducks managed to move the ball past midfield to the Gators 42 yard line. During the drive, Florida coaches were so frustrated with their defensive backs dropping multiple easy interceptions that would have sealed the game. An incredibly timed sack that saw both outside linebackers, Scott Robinson & Ronald Cox, meet at the QB, pushed the Ducks back to their own 46 yard line with only 18 seconds remaining. After two plays netted only 3 yards in 12 seconds, on 4th & 19, the Ducks needed a miracle. With a throw short of the endzone, Gators defenders surrounded the hail mary attempt and swatted away the attempt. After a quick victory formation kneel down, the Gators escaped with the narrow win.

Gators QB Ben Lewis had an off day throwing 3 interceptions, all in his own territory leading to easy Ducks scores. He completed 23/39 for 263 yards with 2 touchdowns and his 3 interceptions. WR Tyler Pittman was the leading rusher on the day carrying the ball only twice, one of which was a 66 yard run for a touchdown; Pittman also added 5 catches for 86 yards and a score.

With the win, Florida hopes to sign several of the 4 visiting recruits in the coming weeks and also sets the Gators at 4-0 (0-0) on the early season. Florida next hosts #5 Ole Miss in their first conference matchup of the season.

Ohio State travels to Piscataway, New Jersey and comes away with a 48-35 victory. The Buckeyes defense forced a punt on the opening series, and while they weren't able to stop the Rutgers rushing attack (280 yards on the ground), Ohio State used their own running game to the tune of 351 yards.

Marcus Avery led the way with 129 yards, but the two-back tandem of David Edwards and Kris Davis combined for 210 yards, their best effort so far. Davis also added 95 yards and 1 TD as a receiver, giving the young freshman 193 total yards in his first start.

Unfortunately, the Buckeyes lost top wide receiver Tim Herron to a broken collarbone. Current expectation is that he is out for the rest of the season.

The Buckeyes are now 3-0 and hope that this victory over the #25 (Media Poll) Scarlet Knights might finally earn them some Top 25 votes, at the very least.

    Nice, should be fun

I just hope to score. May as well set my tackling and strip to aggressive. They are going to always break the first 4-5 tackles either way haha

Of course I should have an extra week of practice
