So much for the starting position. Jaymo is back on the bench for game three of the National series. However in the 7th inning Jaymo comes off the bench in a 0-0 game to face righty, Doug Fister. Jaymo hits a single to move the runner to third. He will eventually score to give the Padres a 1-0 lead. However it's a short lived lead and the Padres drop the game by a score of 6-3.

Padres were swept by the Nationals. Washington starting pitching went 9 innings, 9 innings and 6.1 innings. The Padres could not generate offense. However, Jaymo went 6 for 9 in the series.

Padres hitting is terrible right now. The team is batting .236 and that number is being propped up by Jaymo (.313) and 1st baseman Yonder Alonso (.301). All other hitters are in the .100 or .200 range. Brutal!

Edit: for the next series at home to Miami, Jaymo is back as the starter.

Jaymo has thrived since being named starter. In the five game thus far his fielding has been 1.000. Currently Jaymo is on a six game hitting streak and over the last ten games he has been batting .424. Overall Jaymo's current batting average is .324

However, the dreaded Diamondbacks are in SD. Can Jaymo step up to the challenge and give it to the Dbags?

Inning 1: Jaymo hits an infield single. A few batters later Jaymo crosses the plate and it's 1-0 Padres.

Inning 4: Jaymo gorunds out with 1 on and 1 out. Still 1-0 Padres.

Inning 6: Jaymo grounds out with a man at third and the inning ends. It's now 1-1.

Inning 8: pop up to 2nd base. No matter though, as Jaymo's hit streak hits 7 games and more importantly, the Padres win 3-1

The Diamondbacks continue to frustrate Jaymo. After the 2nd game of the series with the Dbags Jaymo goes a horrendous 1 for 9. On the season versus the Dbags Jaymo has 4 hits on 29 at bats. His batting average is an embarrassing .138 In the 3rd and last game of the series Jaymo had another poor performace going 1-4. At least though he had an RBI and scored a run. With the closure of the Arizona series Jaymo has 5 hits in 33 at bats versus the Diamondbacks. His batting avg. is .152, up slightly from last game. However, in contrast Jaymo is hitting .306 on the season.

At the 70 game mark the Padres sit at 31-39. They are 12.5 back from the now division leading Diamondbacks.

Chase Headley has been moved to starter in LF with the injuries to Carlos Quentin AND LF David Lough. This has sparked Headley's bat againg as he is now hitting above .200 for the first time in a long, long time. It's not clear whether Headley goes back to start at 3rd once Carlos Quentin returns next week.

Two of the worst teams in MLB have a two game set in Minnesota as the Twins (28-44) battle the Padres (32-39)

Game 1 crowd count: 7,482 people in attendance

Jaymo only got the start in game one and he went 2/5 with 2 singles. The game was a dog as the Padres won 2-1 in 11 innings.

Jaymo is on the biggest cold streak of his young career. He now sits at 4 straights games without a hit. Over the last 10 games the numbers are atrocious!

    Jaymo's current stats:

    .273 avg
    154 AB
    42 hits
    5 HR
    17 RBI
    .949 fielding %

At home Jaymo is hitting .279 while on the road he is only .265 Jaymo is hitting .310 vs. lefties but only .259 versus righties. Jaymo has struck out 22 times this season but many of those have come recently.

Over the last ten games Jaymo has fallen off the map. He is only hitting .162 with 6 hits and 1 RBI. Versus the Dodgers jaymo came up to the plate with the bases loaded... three times... and he struck out twice and ground out once. Right now glaciers look at Jaymo and say "damn you're cold!"

Also, Jaymo was leading the race for N.L. rookie of the year. He has now fallen to third on the list. Shortly after being names starter, Jaymo's slump began. If this keeps up there may be a change as 3B Chris Nelson is tearing it up in El Paso.

Finally!!! After 22 at bats Jaymo gets a weak hit down the 3rd base line to drive in a run and give the Padres a 1-0 lead in the third inning of game four. Jaymo keeps it going in the 5th with another RBI single to give the Padres a 3-0 lead. Sadly it was a bad strike out on the last bat of the day. Another hit would have done wonders for Jaymo's confidence. Two hits and two RBI is a good start to recovery...

Personal note: I may need to take a day or two off from RTTS. I am really flustered right now. Granted I got two hits last game but it has been a struggle. Even when I make contact I hit it right to someone on the other team. Case in point, versus the Cubs I smash the ball up the middle and it's going to be a hit... but it hits the pitcher in the head and goes into the glove of the Shortstop for a double play. I almost fell over when I saw that. Cold streaks in this game can be extreme and sometimes you need to walk away and regroup.

After a 24 hours off.. I'm back at it. The game is just too addictive to stay away...

After a decent start to the season and an impressive hot streak Jaymo has been pretty cold for the last month of the season. With just three hits in his last twenty games Jaymo was beyond frustrated. There were moments were it looked like a breakthrough might occur but they didn't pan out.

The Angels came to town for a two game series. In game two of the series it looked like Jaymo had his mojo back with two hits on four at bats, including a double. However, because Jaymo cannot catch a break, sliding into 3rd he sprains his MCL and will be out for at least 3-4 weeks.

    Stats:

    78 games played
    .257 avg.
    49 hits
    5 HR
    21 RBI
    .958% fielding

The Padres are also dead in the water. At the 92 game mark:

    Dodgers 56-35
    Diamondbacks 50-43 (7gb)
    Giants 42-51 (15gb)
    Rockies 41-52 (16gb)
    Padres 40-52 (16.5 gb)

Overall the Padres did pretty well in Jaymo's absence going a very respectable 15-8, which included a 7 game win streak. Chase Headley took over at 3rd and really stepped up. Hitting .222 with a couple of dingers and a swath of RBI, Headley helped the Padres improve their record.

Jaymo's first game back is as DH against the Tigers in Detroit. Not the start Jaymo wanted with a 2 pitch pop out. In the 3rd inning Jaymo hits a single to start things off. He crosses the plate a few batters later for a run. Jaymo gets another single to lead off the 5th. A poor at bat in the 7th caps off a fairly decent return to action. The padres win 5-2.

With the win the Padres record improves to 57-60 (17.5gb)

Jaymo put a nice 5 straight game hit streak together versus St. Louis and the Miami. Feeling good, Jaymo went back home to SD to face his nemesis, the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Game 1: a ground single and then three straigt out
    Game 2: 0/4
    Game 3: 0/1 pinch hit
    Game 4: 1/5

In game four, the Padres blew out the Dbags 13-2. The Padres had 12 hits, incldung 5 homeruns. Jaymo for his part hit into three double plays and grounded out once.

This had the potential of a rokie of the year campaign for Jaymo but everything fell apart. At this rate Jaymo's hitting will be well below .250 be season's end.

25 games left in the season as the calendar hits Sept. 1st, 2015.

    Jaymo's stats:

    96 games played
    256 AB
    .258 batting avg.
    .255 OBP
    .383 slug %
    66 hits
    7 HR
    28 RBI
    .943 fielding %

The Padres aren't doing too much better as they sit at 64-73. On the brightside there is no way possible to hit 100 losses so that's a good thing.

    N.L. West
    Dodgers 81-54
    Diamondbacks 78-59 (4gb)
    Rockies 65-72 (17gb)
    Padres 64-73 (18gb)
    Giants 62-74 (19.5gb)

Currently the Reds and the Diamondbacks are in the N.L. Wildcard positions. The next closest team is Miami, 7.5 games back.

At this point Jaymo is just trying to finish the season. Jaymo is not to happy with the Padres skip. I don't think the Manager has used Jaymo well this season. Hitting cleanup for a non-power hitter has not helped things to say the last. Nonetheless, Jaymo's goal is to finish the season strong.

Just in case anyone thought Jaymo would let his "hatred of the Dbags go... you were wrong. In the 3rd game of the Padres-Dbags series, Arizona won the game 18-0!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Dbags had 20 hits compared to the 3 from the Padres (Jaymo had one). This was the biggest beating of Jaymo's young career.

    Looking at the minors:

    PCL South
    Bees 75-69
    51's 75-69
    Chihuahuas 72-72 (3gb)
    Isotopes 60-84 (15gb)

So in AAA El Paso will not have a chance to defend it's PCL and AAA championships.

In AA action, San Antonio won the 1st half of the season and in the second half...

    Missions 41-23
    Hooks 33-31 (8gb)
    RoughRiders 32-32 (9gb)
    RockHounds 28-36 (13gb)

Since San Antonio won the 1st and 2nd half they have a buy t the championship series in the Texas League. Good luck San Antonio!

With the 40 man rosters a go, 3B Chris Nelson has been brought up. He has had a strong year in El Paso and was on the bench with the Padres last year. Great more pressure for Jaymo! As Jaymo is only hitting .222 in his last 10 games and has had no RBI, he is pretty flustered to begin with.
