I need to pick this up again. I had fun with it when I did play.
The problem is that I only turn my PS4 on for about 2-3 hours per week these days. I've been burnt out on gaming for about a year but it really became noticeable last Spring.
I'm trying to get into NHL 17 right now and I'm having fun when I force myself to play. Hopefully Friday the 13th will snap me out of my funk. I've never been so disinterested in gaming before and I have no idea why I am now.
The new competitive season of Overwatch doesn't start until Wednesday so I'm going to play this for an hour or so.

I haven't played enough to form an opinion but from what I have seen:
* they now have THREE gameplay types (normal, difficult and creative)
* the visuals are somewhat improved
* there are a lot more save points
* the building feature looks cool... but I have not yet figured out how to unlock it
The biggest issue from what I have seen is that all of the planets and lifeforms have been reset. If you found them, the names still exist but all of the animal life forms and bases are gone.
I get worried about that age thing as well. Games just aren't original in many ways any more. We have been around so long there aren't a lot of unique games to hold our interest. We've seen almost everything. Step 1 for me was to get away from sports games years ago and get into other stuff. Trying different genres or even online can help. I've been through minor funks before and wonder if they will become more regular. Right now I'm still gaming. Tomb Raider is solid but I'm looking forward to For Honor the most in February.
I dig the ability to scan planets for their resources from space. That helps save a ton of time as I found a new multitool with 5 more slots so I'm upgrading it again.

They're back!
Too bad some of these upgrades weren't around Day 1. I can understand indie titles progressively adding stuff but a full priced AAA game should have been better. If they added coop play I would probably re buy the game for the kids. They play a lot with my nephews still in Minecraft and all kinds of games. Being able to explore planets together and build settlements would be a lot of fun for them. My kids probably played for 10-15 hours before getting bored and giving up on the game initially. The game has added a lot of nice content since we sold it.
I'm still keeping my eye on this. If I see it on sale in the $9.99 to $19.99 range, I'll consider picking it up now that these guys seem to be updating and improving it and adding to it.

Nice! That'll work!
I've been interested in this since it was first announced, and now that the company is active again and seems to be updating and improving this game on a regular basis, I'm game for finally picking it up for only $14.99.

Yeah, I've never been disappointed by games I've bought from them. I haven't had any issues with the discs or anything.
Ive also been liking what I've been reading in the updates. New ships, ship specializations, Survival mode is tougher, now a new permadeath mode.
Now seems like a good time to jump into this game after the updates and additions it's had since release.

One thing that drives me crazy is how many of the planets get reset after each patch/update. I had an amazing planet that is now a dead planet. It was colourful and vibrant and now it's brown, toxic and mostly lifeless.

One year to the day... a new patch update.... ATLAS RISES. This looks pretty good actually.
