Yeah, there are predictions and then there are "bank on its", my source with SCal informed me early on it would be Sarkisian.

Let me just say he knows the right people at SCal.

Okay well outside of the "political" things at SCal, football wise is he a good fit? He didn't set the world on fire at Washington, but at the same time its Washington.

Who knows? Good fit for now I guess. Previous assistant coach there, should recruit the area well, should assemble a good staff, blah blah. If he wins, yes, if he loses, no............just like everywhere else. Far as "fit", I think his previous experience coaching at SCal impressed the right folks but then again the same folks dug Lame Kiffen

USC probably should have hired Sarkisian instead of Kiffin. Sark probably (OK, definitely) has a better head on his shoulders, but in some regards he is cut from the same cloth as Lane. They seem committed to hiring a "USC guy."

Seeing people on Twitter reporting Boise's Chris Petersen is interviewing (in Boise) with Washington reps.

If Peterson does go to Washington, that opens the door for ASU to lose yet another coach after one year as Harsin was Boise's OC during their biggest run.

I doubt they would hire him after a 7-5 season with a big buyout but ASU fans are paranoid after having 4 coaches in 4 years. Probably better it to happen this year than the next few.

Joe Schad reporting Petersen to Washington and will one of highest paid coaches in Pac-12.

Have also read that Harsin has a $1M buyout and it is expected that Boise will pursue him if Petersen does leave.

Holy shit. I never expected Petersen to actually leave Boise. It was the same song and dance every year, multiple teams trying to woo him, but he would stand his ground and keep his commitment to Boise. And after signing a new $12 million, 5 year extension in April 2012, I figured he was going to stay there for the long haul.

Even with the $1 million buyout, I definitely see Boise going after and doing what it has to do to get Harsin back to replace Petersen.

SP - I didn't think he would leave either, but the UW move makes sense. If anywhere, a job in the Pacific NW fits him, IMO.

Yeah, it is a good fit, being in the Pacific NW, I agree. And it does help I suppose that Washington already previously went after him at least once before back in 2009 before hiring Sarkisian.

if he does make the move, hopefully it works out for him. I've always enjoyed watching Boise State's games and he is one hell of a coach. Hopefully it works and Washington stays competitive or improves under him.

Pretty sure Harsin's buyout is $1.75M before February. After February it's $1M.

Either way, I hate being in this position as an ASU fan. People already throwing out names like Orgeron and Lashlee (Malzahn's really young OC). I don't know who I'd want but neither of them. Just hope it doesn't come to that.

Btw, both Freeze and Malzahn left on 12/4...
