m11jp's NCAA 14 Coaching Career Dynasty: The San Diego State Years

Doc Karstens, young high school football coaching prodigy, signs on as OC with Aztecs
SAN DIEGO, Ca. – The young coach from West San Diego City High School who has become well-known in the local area for his team’s dominance in the city league was signed by the university where he received his degree from just a short 5 years ago. In his 5 seasons with West High, his teams won the City League each season, losing only 2 games to national powers De La Salle and Hoover (Alabama), while averaging 62 points a game offensively. He brings with him to SDSU his high-speed read option running attack with which he has had much success. With the current personnel on the team, it will be interesting to see how they can adjust to the new scheme.

    Game 1: Vs. FCS East

    SDSU
    Overall: B-
    Offense: C+
    Defense: B-

    Game Notes
Elected to defer the second half. Scored on 2 plays, ultimately with a 56 yard run by QB A.Dingwell.
CPU returned a punt for 68yds and a td (WR E.Ruffin)
After a few plays on my next drive, my first attempt at a pitch was intercepted for a td.
Responded with a goal line running td with my qb. Also I threw my first pass on drive for 25yd to my te.
Sputtered again and stopped on a bad read on shovel option followed by a read option out of the slot formation. End result: fg.
Another nice, deep drive, but then 3 straight no gainers. Also suffered a real tough luck injury to starting rb muema, out 8 weeks. Made fg as time ran out on the half.
    At halftime: – 27 plays (21-6 run-pass), Score: 27-7
Tried my luck at my first attempt at a wr screen which ended miserably, being intercepted when my o-line didn't block a single man.
CPU returned a second punt for a td, this time 90yds for Ruffin.
Offense continued to stay stuck in a lull on the next drive. Another pick was thrown, this time inside the 5, going in, on a 3rd and long lob to the te.
Unproductive again. Wideout dropped a short slant after a quick hit, 3-n-out.
The offense then got back on track, going away. Easy drive ended on the replacement rb's (Price) td run to the outside.
At that point, head coach Rocky Long subbed in 2nd team.
With the game already decided, the backups were stopped at the goal line, fg converted.
Ball came right back and result of a quick drive was a 65 yard td run for Price.
FCS E. stalled again and once the ball came back a few last running plays were called in and it was game over.
    FINAL SCORE: 51-7
    P.O.T.G: E.Ruffin: 2 punt return tds, 191yds
