Scouting Report for the Florida State Seminoles
Offense: Very conservative and just looks to avoid turnovers. He likes to throw the ball quick, and is hard to sack because of it. I think he predetermines who he is throwing to so will force it at times. Does not really go beyond his first few reads. I do not think he threw a ball more then 15 yards down the field. Likes to call a twins set on the wide side of the field and try to hit you with a Load Option with his QB. Will also run some read option so stay on your toes. He will methodically move down the field and it will put you to sleep.
Defense: This is how he expects to win games. His defense is full of upperclassmen and is nasty. Wants to force turnovers to win the game. Have to be willing to just take a sack or throw it away if nobody is open. DB's always make a play on the ball so try to avoid throwing it in tight spaces. You can run on him, so be patient and run the ball to force him to change his hand. Pretty sure he runs a 4-2-5.
Offense: Pretty much stayed in a 3WR set w/ a TE playing the 4th WR, the majority of which was a trips. Likes to throw the quick slant to the weak side. Getting pressure on the QB and taking away the early quick throw can lead to sacks as he doesn't force the ball into coverage that much. Slowly works the ball downfield with read option plays. Also watch the Read option to the weak side when in a twins set.
Defense: Ran a 3-4 pretty much all game w/ some 3-3-5 in obvious passing situations. Likes to disrupt inside running plays w/ the DT. LB'ers flow to the ball very well and DE's are often set in contain to slow down the outside runs/screen passes.
I think he predetermines who he is throwing to
