I'm going to open Match Day 2 later this morning. Group B has finished Day 1, so that group can begin Day 2 immediately.

Group A will need to complete Day 1 before ANY of the Day 2 matches can be played involving Group A clubs.

I updated the Rules and Format Thread to include a more comprehensive breakdown of the League Tie-Breaking Procedures. A new tier was added to the Group Stage Tie-Breaking: Fair Play Rules. The likelihood that it ever comes into play is very minimal, but it gives us one more way to break ties before resorting to a Coin Flip.

The current setup for our tie-breaking procedures is a combination of those used by the UEFA Champions League and by the AFC Champions League. I think the system I put together is more than adequate. I encourage you all to review it and let me know if you have questions or if you spot any flaws in the system.

A look at different league and competition procedures from the real world can be found at this link...

Not to be a pain steeler, but are we going to have a "league leaders" page?

I've thought about putting one together. Just haven't gotten around to it.

I'm almost thinking that, if I did it, I'd wait till the end of the tournament so that it wouldn't have to be constantly updated like the other things I'm updating after each match.

However, if someone else wants to put one together, or is willing to maintain one that I put together, I'm all ears.

What kind of stats are we looking to create a leaderboard for? I'd be down to maintain one if the stats are reasonable

I'd say just Goals, Assists, Yellow Cards, Red Cards, Clean Sheets.

If you want to do it, let me know and I'll start a thread for it and Sticky it.

Man these group B standings are getting pretty tight. I would say our division is completely unpredictable as to how it's going to all wrap up.

I totally agree, jaymo. Your win over snoop has made it so any of 3 teams could be the leaders after Day 4 (sorry cdj). It's really going to be a battle down the stretch.

It looks like Manchester City and Milan will meet in the Final. I'm watching the score from the Arsenal-Milan match in the Online Friendlies Hub.

Season 2 registration has closed. As soon as I am able, I will update the Rules and Format thread to reflect what we will be doing.

To give you an idea, we will be playing with 2 Groups of 5 clubs. The big changes because of this will be that Byes will be part of the Group Stage schedule, each club will play 8 matches in Group Play, 3 clubs from each Group will advance beyond the Group Stage, a Quarterfinals round will be added, and the Group winners will get a Bye through the Quarterfinals.

Once the rules are updated, I will open the team selection thread, provide the draft order, and give the team star rating limits for each participant.
