For those who have joined, my initial thoughts are to open this tournament to any club other than the International Squads.
I will likely allow those with the lowest XP in their FIFA 12 Profile to pick first.
If we move forward, and eventually have more than one tournament, we can consider only allowing teams from certain leagues, countries, or regions. At that point, past performance would determine the pecking order for picking teams. The players that struggle the most would pick highest. New players would pick in the middle.
Any thoughts?

snoop and I have been doing some testing and I think we should go with 15-minute halves. We've been averaging about 26 total shots between us per match. That is right in line with the real world. If we go with 10, we'll likely end up with a bunch of 0-0 and 1-0 matches.
Hopefully, our 2 "maybes" join and we can start picking teams next week. On that front, jaymo, I sent you a friend request on PSN. I need you to accept it so I'll be able to see everyone's XP for team drafting purposes.
We may have jumped the gun by saying we'll go with 15-minute halves.
Lately, snoop and I have been getting good numbers with 10-minute halves. We'll continue to test this, but for now, consider this undecided.

I agree our shot numbers seem to be really good and consistent.
They've been a tad low. But on 15-minutes, we'd likely average 35-38.
Unfortunately, on 10 minutes, we'll never see shot totals reach the mid-30s. I wish there were options between 10 and 15 (11, 12, etc.).

If we get jaymo to show, we can pick teams and get rolling. Until then, we are in a holding pattern.
I will give him until Saturday sometime. If we haven't heard any more from him by then, we will start looking for another player (TGT Twitter, or another friend etc.).
I can't set the draft order until I know how much XP jaymo has.

That's correct.
No International teams (so we don't end up with 2 versions of Messi running around). All league teams are fair game.

I had my daughter, literally, draw names from a hat this morning to decide the Groupings for the tournament.
As players pick their teams, I will reveal their place in the Standings Thread.
I've also put the schedule together and will start a schedule thread soon and reveal the match ups as the users pick their teams.

I'm so glad the team selection has gone so quickly!
It's just about time to get this thing underway! The teams have been selected, the Groups have been formed, and the schedules have been released.
I am going to create a Match Day 1 Thread shortly. That thread will include a sample Game Report.
