Just saw a preview for this Firefighter special on HBO and they showed Steve Buscemi on it. He was a firefighter for 4 years before acting, that completely caught me off guard.
Yeah, I remember hearing about that after 9/11. He was with an engine company for the FDNY and returned to his old company after 9/11 to help sift through rubble at the World Trade Center. I had never known that about him until I saw a picture online of him on a fire truck in full turnout gear after 9/11.
