    The 2011-2012 MLB Hot Stove

Not too surprising that the first news of the offseason is that the Phillies are not going to pick up the option on Oswalt. They have some young talent that can start...namely Worley.

Cubs just officially announced that Mike Quade will not be returning to the Cubs in 2012. BRING BACK RYNO!

Well it won't be Ryno, sounds like it won't be Tito either.

I dont see Tito going there. Last I heard him and theo had some major conflict of intrest. The Cards didnt pick up Dotel or Furcals option. Furcals doesnt surprise me with the way his contract was but Mo has said they are going to try to resign him with a different contract. Not sure about Dotel but I hope he stays with us. As well as he pitched this postseason and down the stretch he deserves it.

IF (which I doubt we do) we hire him how does that sway your loyalty JB? It would be like Ozzie doing something for the Cubs!

Eh, he'll still be my favorite player of all time, and if the Cubs aren't in it, I'll root for him to succeed. I have a feeling Oquendo will get it, what do you think?

I doubt Jose gets it. Just gut feeling. I have this feeling that we are going to give it to our bench coach Joe Petini for a year and then shoot for Joe Maddon. I dont think Tito would be a good fit here, and while Ryno I think would make a good manager I dont see him getting the job. Though I wouldn't complain if he did.

Yeah ... Maddon is too good of a manager to be stuck in a city that only cares about their team if they play in October.

Good to hear that Wilson Ramos was rescued without harm. Sounds like a crazy firefight ensued to get him though....

Reyes and Hanley could be a deadly half of the infield.

Out of nowhere the Angels swoop in and sign Pujols to a $250M deal.

The Nats might be trading for Gio Gonzalez...that's going to be a sick rotation with Jordan Zimmermann and Stephen Strasburg. Throw in Bryce Harper, and they're big players in possibly landing Fielder too. This team is going to be dangerous.

Theo already doing well. Pulled off two trades today. First got rid of that cancer Carlos Zambrano for a good arm in Chris Volstad who will be in the 2012 rotation. And just now off the wire, traded P Andrew Cashner for probably San Diego's best prospect who debuted in the MLB last year, Anthony Rizzo. Probably takes them out of the Prince sweepstakes, and makes Washington the front runner.

Prince Fielder signs a deal with the Tigers to make a sick offense even sicker.

It's Detroit, they'll still lose to the Yankees or Red Soxs in the playoffs
