Nothing great for ratings here, but a position of need as it appears Marshall has been toying with the idea of going to a 3-4 defense this preseason but rumors are that they will in fact stay with the 4-3. Adding Joe early is key, there was mention of Joe starting school in January, but that was quickly squashed when the HC from Marshall told the reporter "your crazy, you do realize that Joe is from WV right?"

A great signing for the Cyclones, Duncan comes in primed and ready to start for the next three seasons. He will likely slide over to the Free Safety position to be the last line of defense but he could also find himself up in the box from time to time to chase down ball carriers in the backfield.

A key signing for Iowa State, Malloy comes in ready to take the reigns of the middle linebacker position letting him put his high agility to good use as he maintains the middle of the field. It will also allow current MLB AJ Klein to move to the outside linebacker position allowing him to make even more plays giving even larger impact to an already stacked linebacker core. As well, the Cyclones may consider redshirting Klein or OLB Jake Knott next season to allow talent to be spread out for the future.
