    Season 1 Game 5 - W 10-7

    Key Defensive Stats:

Defensive Player of the Game: CB Aaron Grymes (Jr.) 9 TAK, 6 SOLO, 3 ATK, 1 TFL, 1 SACK, 1 INT

This is the type of effort that makes a DC like myself VERY proud. This Vandal defense went on the road against an ACC opponent, and didn't let them score until :34 left in the game. An AMAZING 11 sacks in the game to go with 3 turnovers capped off the best Vandal game in my regime. Very proud of these guys.

It's frustrating when the other 2/3 decides to screw you over again and again, such as red zone failures leading to missed FGs and lost games, but yeah, it definitely is fun. Sometimes it just wears on you, though (having played Tulane 2 years as OC and Army 1 year... now Vandy).

    Season 1 Game 6 - L 38-17

    Key Defensive Stats:

Defensive Player of the Game: SS Quin Ashley (Sr.) 7 TAK, 5 SOLO, 2 ATK, 4 TFL, 2 SACK

This team just fell flat after a huge win on the road against an ACC opponent. It was very disappointing to see this defense get owned at home to a team that hadn't won a game yet this year. Even though we're 3-3 at this point in the season, this game really put a bad taste in my mouth. Next week we will face another winless team, and I expect nothing but an ass whooping delivered by the Vandals.

Looks like I will easily get the big as I'm on pace to only allow around 1400 rushing yards.

I only need one win to avoid the

Right now I'm on pace to allow 3502 yards, but I only have to get under 3400 in one season, so I shouldn't get the if I'm off the pace this year.

Defensive Player of the Week Update (Through Week 6)

Interesting that the player of the game has always come from someone in the secondary.

    Season 1 Game 7 - W 34-33

    Key Defensive Stats:

Defensive Player of the Game: CB Matthew Harvey (Sr.) 7 TAK, 5 SOLO, 2 ATK, 4 TFL, 2 Sacks

Some good heart displayed by this defense at the end of the game after an ugly three quarters. Idaho was down by 17 at one point, but thankfully the offense kicked it into gear at the same time the defense did. Idaho just barely avoided giving a winless team their first win for the second week in a row.

Sweet! Even though I'm starting a 360 one, I'm not dropping this one.
