You saw my interview now let's go hands on with Madden NFL 12!
Welcome back to Clevver Games I'm Andrea Rene here to talk about my E3 2011 coverage of Madden NFL 12. Football season is right around the corner and Madden will be out in a few short months so I thought I better get my hands on it while I could! Associate Designer Anthony DiMento and I went head to head in a match so he could show me some gameplay, so let's check it out!
Anthony told me design changes were implemented to make the game feel more real than ever, including helmet and jersey degradation throughout the game and 3D animations that show when players kick up grass or dirt on specific fields. But the look of the game is only part of the battle.
Clearly, as an EA Sports designer he was kicking my ass, but there are ways for you to get an edge on your friends or the CPU like the custom Playbook and utilizing the new tackle collision system, more on that in second, let's check out some more footage.
The tackle system he was referring to has been designed in a way that you can choose how to tackle. In Madden NFL 12, instead of just hitting a button and getting a canned animation you'll see over 100 animations for the impact system like gang tackles and concussive hits. As Anthony said there will be more information about the new online components for Madden and I'll be sure to bring them to you here on Clevver Games.
