'Until Saturday' Interview w. Kirk Herbstreit - 'Exciting Announcements Coming Soon'

On Tuesday's edition of The Athletic's 'Until Saturday' podcast, Kirk Herbstreit joined host Ari Wasserman to discuss a variety of college football topics. At the 39:00 mark, the topic changed to the return of the EA SPORTS College Football franchise. Herbstreit reminisced about his time as part of the NCAA Football franchise, both as a fan and as an in-game commentator.

When discussing the returning title, no new information came to light, but Herbstreit did share this quote: “I’m very excited with some of the announcements that’ll be coming up here very soon from what I hear.” It is currently unknown if he will be a part of the franchise in the future, though there has been some internet rumor and speculation that he will be.

Wasserman and other yet to be identified CFB media members have visited EA SPORTS to provide feedback in improving the title, namely Dynasty Mode. *This topic and Wasserman's mention of "territories" were discussed further on Episode 37 of the TGT Podcast.*

Herbstreit believes that all FBS teams have accepted the opportunity to be a part of the title, but “now it’s up to the players (to opt in.)" The ESPN College GameDay analyst and broadcaster has been vocal about wanting the franchise to return, going on the record as far back as 2016.
