I remember it like it was just yesterday.......
*begins dream sequence*
So, as you can see, I was down 24-7 late in the 3rd.
I don’t remember the TD that made it 24-14 at the end of the 3rd but I remember the one that made it 24-21. It was 4th and 8 and the cpu called for 4WR (remember, this is cpu vs. cpu so I don’t have anything to do with anything once the game starts). The slot WR on the left ran a corner, he caught it around the 10, shook the CB’s tackle off, and ran the other 10 down the sideline. We attempted an onside kick and it failed. CPU went into burn clock mode and unfortunate for them, they were getting first downs. They did burn our 3 timeouts but they got deep into the red zone so they went for the TD. If they knelt twice, the game was over. They handed it off to the HB and one of my LBs shot through a gap, hit sticked, and caused a fumble. DT fell on it and we had about 40 secs and no timeouts to go about 88 yards. On the winning TD, it was 3rd and 8 and with :12 seconds. The outside WR to the QB’s right ran a streak and the CB just got beat in 1-on-1 coverage. Safety help was way too late to help. Super simple. I considered filming the highlight and in hindsight, I wish I had. But that’s the play. The play itself was a surprise but the play that that got me out of my seat in excitement was the fumble. I literally yelled, “BALL! BALL! BALL!” when I saw it pop out.
