During Tuesday's Q1 2026 EA Earnings Call, there were several mentions of EA SPORTS College Football following its launch in early July.

As part of his prepared remarks, EA CEO Andrew Wilson shared that the company is expecting a 'more normal demand curve' for CFB 26 as compared to the hype surrounding the 11-year wait for 25.

During Tuesday's Q1 2026 EA Earnings Call, there was one mention of the much speculated - and all but confirmed - EA SPORTS College Basketball title.

Raymond James Analyst Andrew Marok asked EA CEO Andrew Wilson about a potential CBB return and how EA views the basketball market as an opportunity given that the company has not launched a console professional basketball game since 2018.

Wilson responded that they cannot say much "yet," but hope to use the same approach from College Football in representing each university, bowls, playoffs, trophies, and player licensing as they "look to try and activate against that opportunity."

On Tuesday, EA deployed College Football 26 Title Update 1.006.

From EA: We’re aware that some players have experienced issues in Road to Glory (RTG) and separately in Dynasty mode. Today’s update includes targeted stability fixes for both experiences.

Ahead of Thursday's (July 24) Title Update for College Football 26, EA SPORTS has published details of what fans can expect in the upcoming patch.

Also, aspects addressed in a server-side update for Online Dynasties last week will now be reflected in offline Dynasties.

A server-side fix went live today to address several Dynasty related issues in College Football 26. They take effect immediately in Online Dynasties. A future title update will apply the fixes for offline Dynasties. There is no need to restart any CFB 26 Dynasties. Among the biggest fix is that users can now change a player's position within their current position group without penalty to their skill caps.

Courtesy Extra Points with Matt Brown, we now know the details of 2K's bid to attain rights to make a college basketball video game.

Following the CLC's recommendation that EA's bid be accepted, 2K began contacting schools directly with details of their proposal and asking them to delay approval of EA's bid.

Per Matt Brown, 2K requested a non-exclusive contract that planned on incorporating 5v5 college gameplay inside of its popular MyTeam mode within NBA 2K. This aspect would be a standalone purchase and include 16 programs in year one, 32 in year two, and 68 in year three. The company promised to consider a standalone product based upon the success/metrics of the MyTeam add-on. EA's bid featured a standalone game with over 700 men's and women's programs and saw higher payments across the board to players and programs.

It is currently unknown what company filed the third formal bid.

The Gaming Tailgate has put together a guide detailing to use the new Stunts feature in College Football 26. Stunts are typically a move that sees two defenders (usually on the defensive line) exchange their roles in gap responsibilities. The goal is to confuse offensive linemen on their pass protection or even run game assignments. Stunts (also known as twists) are used more often on obvious pass situations as slow developing stunts can leave wide open areas on the field for a running back, especially if the wrong gap is left open.
