I like to do this with NCAA quite a bit.
I read on twitter that a Madden dev told someone at E3 that people weren't asking for the defensive lock camera and so they didn't bother with it.

I've seen this asked for many times on OS and other places. NCAA has the tech, it's still early enough, I don't see why they can't add it. Either way we aren't getting any of these NCAA camera option in Madden this year. The only change they made was to tweak the zoom camera angle from last year.

    Speaking of press coverage...

It's an absolute JOKE in this series. Show me some real life examples where DB's are mugging WR's at the LOS for two seconds at a time. In fact, show me some clips where they are actively trying to beat receivers up at the line: in real life that's way too dangerous to even attempt since any decent WR can get open deep if he does a good job keeping his hands free. Real press is usually a soft jam with the off hand as the CB looks to stay tight to the receiver and play his inside hip, NOT the crap that's happened in this series forever. And let's not even mention route mirroring that continues indefinitely, thus encouraging people to drop 9/10 people into coverage (not even Deion Sanders in his prime could stick with a WR for more than 5 seconds).

With that said, if you want to make an argument that it's designed this way intentionally in order to cater to the average fan, then I would totally buy that: what's the number one thing your average dipshit fan always bitches about his favorite team's defense? "Why do we play so soft on the outside with our corners?" In Joe Sixpack's mind, his team would play lights out defense and stop everything if only his favorite team played bump and run every down and brought heat constantly. Nevermind the fact that in order to even attempt to do anything like that you have to have excellent athletes across the board with a sound scheme in place to deal with Bunch/Stack/Motion (see FSU at the end of Mickey Andrews' tenure as DC for a real life example of a defense trying to execute this style without the dudes).

Long story short, WR/DB should be 1b (after OL/DL play) in terms of what's specifically overhauled with the next gen games.

Yeah the zoom in Madden was pretty much unplayable on defense. What is more confusing regarding player lock is they were able to do it in the Superstar mode in past years?

Has there always been a USER vs USER skill level? I don't remember ever seeing that.

There is a lot more movement in the OL blocks now imo. I'm not just talking next gen but this gen. Clint Oldenburg has upgraded current gen quite a bit. I see less of the stationary, patty cake, Tecmo style blocking of year's past and more of a 2K block and move at the same time system.

Look at the blocking on this run play in the NCAA video (link takes you to the 3 minute mark):

The OL is getting movement on blocks. It's very nice even though it's probably on Varsity and the human OL a bit too dominant.

Game looks awesome and so does the blocking look better too. Can't for the demo to hit.

I don't remember it in previous versions either. Interesting you could set CPU to one level and user to another. Pretty sweet actually.

On a separate note, I thought homeboy was uploading the other 3 qtrs of the OKY ST Videos last night?

Did you happen to notice who the highest rated Punter was this year? Are they making left footed and right footed punters any time soon? Will they have both shoes on or just one, and if so what kind where they?
Also will there be a Punter over the rating of 3 stars for a change, and does playing time come into factor when trying to recruit them. I try to keep 5 or 6 on my team just in case, ones having a bad day.....
