Operation Sports: I played NCAA for 90 minutes at E3. Ask me questions...
Marc from VG Revolution answers some game questions.
EDIT - Marc states that to switch the ball to your other hand is now the L1/LB button.

Some good stuff from the fellas out at E3. If the CPU is better, we might be able to go back to All-American.

The dude abides.
Here are some of the highlights from the OS Q&A:
IE felt less implemented than in Madden last year. It was less noticeable, but still apparent. I saw a few instances of gang tackling and very little stumbling and rubber legs like in Madden 13.
Running was better. The footplanting and burst mechanics cause you to more carefully choose when to make moves. CPU runners are super dangerous. I played against D'Anthony Thomas and he was dangerous and scary on default AA. Carved me up and forced me to bring my support in an effort to stop him.
The models are really detailed with lots of accessories. The movement and animations are refinements on 13.
The momentum felt natural. I noticed runners with momentum falling forward and not getting hit back. Didn't see anything too strange in my time with the game.
One of the cool little things about the coach screen now is that you can hold a receiver's button and see the matchup with the defender across from him. So you can see how much faster he is, how his release is, how much taller he is, etc.
Same accelerated clock. I asked Larry Richart about it while I was playing Madden and his answer was cagey. I wouldn't say he was the most pleasant guy. Christian at the NCAA demo was a lot cooler.
I was intrigued by NCAA before playing it, but I came away very impressed. It's better balanced for sure.
I didn't try any stiff arms. Well, that's a lie. I did, but the guy didn't switch hands and pushed the wrong way. Christian said I had to use L1/LB to switch hands. It didn't come up again.
The jukes were better in getting me upfield and moving forward. Didn't break momentum as much. I got a player tired in practice on purpose and the jukes were very ineffective and slow.
The training mode is super cool. Will really help not just learn how to play, but about football.
It was nice to see the cpu run the read-option well. Post play looked nice. But the graphics, player details and models, animations and player momentum (heavier) are all better in Madden imo.

Just finished the Michigan v OSU vid. Enthusiasm has returned![]()
5:15 - Absolutely pathetic pulling lineman logic by the RG. He bumps into the OLB and does not engage into patty cake. Ends up blocking no one.
9:45 - That's one of the best offensive linemen (2nd overall, rated 96) in the game just disengaging for no apparent reason.
glad to hear that we will get the demo 18th or before!! hoping for today or tomorrow
From Shopmaster: NCAA 14 Interview w- Ben Haumiller

Going through the OS Q&A thread with Marc, I want to clarify something with the Match-up Stick. Composure is NOT part of the Match-up Stick and is not in NCAA 14. It is designed to show match-ups and help identify mis-matches. The Motivation Level feature returns (the hot/cold discs under players in Coach Cam).
Damn that looked really nice even for the 360.I can't wait to play. Running looked a lot better so did animations during gameplay. I wish we could have heard commentary though no big. It sucks he didn't pass more. The guy was not really trying or he really sucked at the game. He should of been able to at least score with MI . But it was finally nice to see some game play footage !
I know these interviews are always like this anyway, but those were the most spoon fed questions I think I've ever heard in an interview.
How about dynasty but I have to admit, recruiting can be a pain and I wish the CPU could do some of it for me. What's changed with dynasty mode Ben?
The Michigan/Ok ST looks really well done, the CPU option game was noticeably better right away.
