    New Maryland Uniforms

There's been new uniforms for Maryland. First set was released before the season started and there hasn't been an update yet. Here's the new set of uniforms

    ^New regular Red&White uniforms

There also was a black helmet variant, along with black pants. Helmet was worn vs NC State, Wake Forest, and UVA. Pants were worn against UVA

Then there was my personal favorite: the White Ops jerseys vs West Virginia. Whether of not you like most of Maryland's uniforms, these are awesome. Can't imagine it'd be hard for EA Sports to make considering it's just a gray-scale Pride outfit.

I think they should not try to be so stylish and simply make the Maryland helmet logo look like a flag, like the jolly Roger on the Buccaneers helmet

I fired up NCAA 13 tonight and it said something about Nike Pro Combat uniforms being available for teams but I didn't bother to see what teams as I figured I'd be able to go to the uniform store and download them.

Now I don't see them so I assume these were uniforms already in the game and are now unlocked for all of us. Are these the uniforms that were part of the pre-order bonus? Does anyone have a comprehensive list of the ones it unlocked?

    Thanks.

I don't have the list right in front of me but yes, they're unlocked for you. I think Ohio State, Army, Navy, Boise State, and Oklahoma State are some of the teams. They're the unlocked uniforms from Amazon and the demo.

I didn't see the pop-up (because I'm not online), but the Pro Combat unis from the demo and pre-order were:
Demo: Navy, Stanford, Ohio State, LSU, and Boise State
Amazon: Army, Georgia, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Oregon

Yup. They are not the worst looking alternate uniform out there but I still side with having one home and one away uniform, no combinations. Minimum of 5 years between uni changes and NO CHROME OR SHINY THINGS ALLOWED.

You want to give a shout out against breast cancer - use a patch.
You want to support Wounded Warriors - use a patch.
You want to support an injured or fallen teammate - use a patch or helmet sticker.

i dont mind the pink accessories. but its shit like getting a new uniform every year or for any special occasion that i have a problem with. oregon's and maryland's uniforms are getting so ridiculous that they look like a retard designed them.

I mind the pink accessories. Someone is making a killing on all that pink merchandise when they should just DONATE money to breast cancer research. I think by now we all know Women can get breast cancer and it is a bad thing. Just like the Oregon uniforms this shit never stops. A few years and each month there will be a new color add-on for a different disease/illness. The NFL Cares, so November is Prostate Cancer Awareness where we will have all the players wearing white accessories, to celebrate man and his sperm production.

It is like the U2/Bono mentality in regards to their Charities. Promote awareness for tragedies by using... celebs, parties, concerts, tons of money, all spent on promoting awareness and the cost of running a charity - i.e. gotta get me some of that. Just not on the actual issue at hand.

honest question.....is it mandated that players have to wear pink accessories for breast cancer awareness? or do they do it on their own voluntary terms?

i guess i dont mind it all that much because i dont pay attention to it. i dont care about what fashion statements players are making. i'm still gonna focus on the football game, rather than how the players look.

Could not say, just that thank heavens November is here.

As far as I'm aware, at the collegiate level, it's voluntary. Ohio State supported a local Breast Cancer charity, and there was a decided difference between how many pink accessories some players were wearing versus others. Officially, the only mandated item for the players I can find is a pink ribbon on their helmets.

I can't tell if we did this for our Purdue game, but when we wore pink items for the spring game in 2010, the items were then auctioned off, with the proceeds going to charity.

I agree with you, doughty, that someone is probably making good money off of it, HOWEVER those companies are only making money because the schools and leagues want to show off support for a cause. I don't think Nike's going around asking teams to wear pink so they can make more money (and, if they are, then schools and leagues are foolish for letting them dictate it).

There is a tremendous connection between Ohio State football, the James cancer center, and breast cancer charities (not sure if they're awareness or grants, believe both), thanks to Chris and Stefanie Spielman. I'm fairly confident that practically no one at Ohio State has a problem with promoting it.

Like Lance Armstrong and Livestrong and the fact that they haven't given a single grant in years.

Cannot let my wife (gynecologic oncologist) see this thread now. She HATES Komen and the "pink" charity with a passion for a whole host of reasons.

I can understand why that might be. But not every "pink" event is supporting Komen ...
