The guy ASU fans trust the most when it comes to ASU/SBC news, who doesn't say anything unless he's completely positive, has just confirmed that Malzahn will be our next coach...

The Sun got it first and I got it bit later and have been holding it until someone else reports but Gus has approved ASU's offer. Contract is not signed but appears he is our next coach.

According to our ASU insider, Hugh Freeze was integral in bringing Malzahn to Jonesboro...

"Hugh Freeze deserves major credit in this hire he recruited Malzahn for the job and answered many questions about the program and the roster. Malzahn then contacted ASU."

Definitely a reason for the ASU nation to continue to praise Hugh Freeze, not only for what he's done, but for what he did after he left.

Indeed... as one fan mentioned, Freeze helped sign a 5-star recruit after he left the program.

    Navy: Niumat Not Interested

    By Bill Wagner (Annapolis Capital)

Scott Strasemeier, associate athletic director for sports information at the U.S. Naval Academy, said in a statement to various news outlets on Tuesday that Penn State has not contacted head coach Ken Niumatalolo about succeeding Joe Paterno.

“I just talked to coach Niumatalolo and he said it wasn’t true," Strasemier said of the FootballScoop.com report that Penn State officials had spoken to Niumatalolo. "I also talked to our athletic director, Chet Gladchuk, and he said when we signed coach Niumatalolo to a long-term contract on April 21, that he said he wanted to coach at the Naval Academy for the rest of his life, and there’s no reason to believe that has changed. I can also confirm that Penn State has not contacted Navy.”
That's right Penn State, go find your own damn coach somewhere else. Stay the hell away from Niumatalolo.

Wonder if he flipped off Stevie P on the way out the door...

Also, if he texted his players at 12:16, most of them probably found out on Twitter

    From Joe Schad:

Todd Graham called Steve Pederson and was denied permission to talk to ASU; three hours later he resigned

"Ready to take Arkansas State to the next level..." "to make Arkansas State a top 25 team year in and year out".

According to a football player on twitter, Gus said:
"I plan on being here for a long time. Let's take this thing to the moon!"
