EA Access has brought to light some additional missing aspects of NHL 15:
Yeah missing GM Connected had dampened my interest in this game, and I haven't even downloaded the demo yet, but I'll get on the XB1 and download the game through Access tonight.
Shit. I knew there was a lot missing but not THAT much missing. I think I may pass on NHL this year now.

Can't draft a player in BAGM? Maybe it's an auto-draft. I'm fine with that if it means they are re-working the shitty scouting from before.
Can't edit a player? I doubt it. If so, that sticks but not a huge deal to me.
I don't know exactly what he means about the AI. You can customize your AI in the demo.
The rest is meaningless (did he really think NHL 94 would be in on its 21st Anniversary).

I already knew about GMC, but everything added up just makes the game a shell for me. No GMC, no Be a Pro, no Shootout, no Winter Classic, No Battle for the Cup, no editing teams or players, no drafting players in Be a GM, etc. On their own, they don't seem as big a deal, but all of them together and added up, why the hell would I spend $60 for a fraction of a game compared to what I've got with last year's game?

From what I can tell, Be a Pro is in (probably as dry and shitty as ever). What he is saying is that you have to create a player for it rather than use a real NHL or CHL player.Quote:

I hesitated to share that list given that the user seemed pretty negative (and ignored OTP being patched in at some point), but I thought he was valid in listing what last-gen features did not make the cut - especially since EA has not been very forthcoming in doing so.
A small thing, but I have read that the 3-stars are not given out at the end of games either. Losing features from last- to next-gen is somewhat understandable, but given the fact there was the implication they held off on a game last year to focus on this year and the lack of direct info/communication - I completely get why people are (rightfully) upset. Though, hopefully the gameplay, visuals, and features that did get in can still put together a good game.
The entire list compiled by OS of missing features from the PS3 version to the PS4 version.
This was a 100% purchase for me. The stuff missing from GM Mode/Be A Pro means I will pass on this game. No preseason? Automated draft? No playing your AHL schedule? I am really shocked with how much has been removed. The PS4 version of this game had a two year development cycle. What exactly was done with that time?Quote:

Apparently the NHL team is going to patch in the ability for users to select players during the draft... just reading that sounds crazy. What was EA thinking?

Bad news.
The game crashed to the "Report a problem to Sony" screen just as I finished my first game.
The gameplay was pretty damn good though, considering how little I changed in the sliders.
Hopefully the crash was an isolated incident or it is amended very soon. We'll see.

I'm just going to take a year off on this one and play more Madden and FIFA I think.
Question, sorry if this is a silly question but I can't seem to find the tutorials. In Madden 15 and Fifa 15 there are in game tutorials or skill challenges that basically teach you the fundamentals then test your ability to master them....
Is this somewhere in NHL 15? I haven't played much hockey since back on Sega Genesis, so I was hoping to find a skill tutorial or mode that teaches you the basics. I have found the practice rink where it's just me and the keeper but it doesn't really tell you anything. Are you just supposed to memorize the controls and go from there?
Is there a mode/feature menu that I'm talking about and I'm just missing it?
Unfortunately, Gus, there is not a tutorial out any skills games this year. Your best bet is probably to look up the manual online and try moves out in Practice.

It seems that some people are really unhappy with the 1.03 tuner release. The loudest complaints appear to be aimed at robo goalies, over the top hitting and a CPU that appears to have boosts. One likened it to NHL Hitz.
Is anyone else finding this to be true?
The goalies do seem alot better, but they needed to be. I don't see any difference in the hitting (of course it may be because I play offline and can tone it down with sliders) except that the CPU actually hits more (giving some balance by hitting as much as I hit). I'm not sure about CPU boosts. The CPU is much more competitive but it could be because I moved up to Superstar after 1.03.Quote:
