Figured it deserved its own thread. The World Cup starts here in a few hours.
Looking at the schedule it looks like most games start at 11:00 2:00 and 5:00 CST so lots of streaming on the Kindle Fire HDX from the office.

I brought my laptop today, but not for the World Cup, for the U.S. Open
Prediction - Brazil 2 Croatia 0
Brazil scores first..... in the wrong goal. WOW!
that goal really took the energy right out of the stadium. this would truly be a STUNNER if Croatia can get any points much less 3 in the opener. riots may erupt.
That was the 37th own goal in World Cup history, 73% of them have come in the 1st round.

at least one of those 37 ended with a player getting gunned down upon returning home
Neymar ties it up
FLOP give a PK to Brasil.
All I gotta say if I was still playing and me or my teammate got hosed like that on such a stage the ref would NOT be walking out of the stadium alive.
Croatia got hosed.
Wow Brasil is getting all the bounces. They will survive today and the group but far from impressive today.
Looking forward to the Spain/Netherlands rematch.
Go Cameroon!
Assistant Referee Must be a Republican b/c he just denied a Mexican goal.
Cameroon has played much better than I thought they would but looks like they are going to come up short
Mexico has not played well since the Olympics. Too many internal problems, it seems.
REALLY interested to see this one. I have a feeling the Dutch are do for a major let down/disappointment - their stars are older now and they never have a particularly strong defense.
bla bla bla , when's college/pro football start ?
its a month long and I'll check it out. Might as well, its sports.
When did the Dutch start wearing Blue?
Teal isn't an ideal seat color. Can see every empty seat pic.twitter.com/qVvtiIJ90H

Spain finally gets burned playing so high/offsides trap and R.V.P. with a beautiful header for the equalizer.
Wow the Dutch have come to play today. Spain in BIG trouble.
I LOVE it when the Dutch are ON there is nothing more beautiful than watching them on offense.
Spain is getting TORCHED!
Did I say the Dutch were going to implode I change that to Spain. WOW!
I cannot ever remember a defending champion getting beaten down like this - perhaps France in 02 but even they didn't look this bad.

And Rick Reilly goes too far and probably trips over himself to hit delete:
Did Rick Reilly just send one of the worst sports tweets ever? http://t.co/LRKGGBiFmS

Only 1 team has ever advanced from the World Cup group stage after losing its opener by 4+ goals: 2006 Ukraine (lost 4-0 to Spain).
