Where I agree with grey being overused, but the PMS 426 “Smokey gray" is an official school color for University of Tennessee for a long time. So, I'm okay with the smokey gray, but not so sure about grey helmet. I have to wait and see it on the field. I'm just glad that they didn't do a retro 1914 gray uniform as that wouldn't look good.
I have a feeling that in a few years, that Tennessee will have another black uniform from Nike, but I hope that it's like the ones that they had a few years ago and nothing retro like the black uniforms that Tennessee had in 1903.

True, but like Alabama, we have too many that don't want alternate uniforms as it will shake up traditions, when in fact those two colors are part of tradition. The one thing that I like about the new home/away uniform is the checker board on the helmet and the pants.Quote:

Heck, I would like to see those as an alternate helmet logo. One thing that I would have like to kept from the Adidas uniforms was the state logo that was on the back of the uniform, which Nike did for all the other sports. I wish they would put the black outline around the number and name plate like they did on the away uniforms in the 90's.
I think that Nike played it safe this year, or they have other plans to bring other alternate uniforms later in the year.

Love my Sun Devils and the unis are pretty decent but I still favour the yellow/gold helmet with the maroon facemask. I have finally accepted that Sparkey has moved on but ASU drove me nuts last year with just as many uni options as Oregon.

I sound old but I think it's time for the NCAA to mandate a maximum of FOUR uniforms in a season. All of these theme alternates are getting ridiculous.
When it generates more sales for the school and the NCAA, that won't happen. It's also used a recruiting tool too, so that's another reason for the schools to fight that.Quote:
