So, I've never seen Drive before, but I have heard about it a lot. So alright, I got the monthly text message for a free rental code from Red Box yesterday. There was another movie I wanted to check out, so I reserved that movie online, went out to Walmart, and then used my free rental code to pick up Drive while I was there getting my reserved movie. Watching it right now, about 20 minutes in.

That's basically what I thought.

He definitely didn't give the money to the woman and the boy because the mob would link that to them. Only way to prevent that from happening was to leave the money with the dead dude.

That's what makes the movie great. Lots of ways to interpret the ending.

So you guys could be right, he very well could have been dying and just driving off into the sunset at the end there, though he didn't quite seem like he was in the process of dying at the very last scene. He almost looked like he was just driving away from the city.

As mors said, he obviously didn't give the money to the woman because otherwise they would be in danger and it would only be a matter of time before the mob got to them. So he left it with the dead guy, and very well could have just driven off and left his old life behind. It would have been the safest way for everyone involved. If he stays around, her and the kid could still end up in danger if the mob keeps trying to get to him, so he drives off and leaves town and leaves everything behind him for an unknown future.

Definitely a good movie though. If it didn't have to be back by 9pm tonight, I'd give it another watch later tonight or tomorrow. I'll definitely have to look at possibly buying it sometime, as it was a good movie.

There's a book sequel to Drive called Driven... so he's probably not dead/dying

BTW, I didn't enjoy Drive personally... probably had too high of expectations or something.

Drive just hit me at the perfect time and the way the relationship between him and the girl and kid works is just SO well done. I don't know, it just hits me right in all the right places. The elevator scene is SO god damn intense, it's amazing.

My reason is my really low expectations and the fact it was nothing like I thought it was going to be. I went knowing nothing about it. I figured it was just some action, Michael Bay, type film that would kill a few hours. ...mindless entertainment. Needless to say its nothing like that. Not to sound cheesy but the way the driver loved the women and the kid was incredible. You don't see that in movies. He loved them so much that all he cared about was their safety and not whether he could be with them.

Also, I went into the movie knowing absolutely NOTHING about it. I LOVE watching movies knowing nothing about them when it starts. Makes the movie going experience that much better.

Yep, I did not know a single thing about the movie. All I knew was the "tag line" of stunt driver by day, getaway driver by night. That was it. I had no clue of what it was fully about, no clue of what to expect, so I had pretty much no expectations at all.

An Oscar-winning US firm is to create a "virtual" Elvis Presley to bring the King of Rock and Roll back to life for today's music audiences, it announced Wednesday.

Digital Domain Media Group (DDMG), which helped late rapper Tupak Shakur rise from the grave in an eye-popping music festival performance recently, has signed a deal to resurrect the swivel-hipped music icon.

"This is a new and exciting way to bring the magic and music of Elvis Presley to life," said Jack Soden, head of Elvis Presley Enterprises, a division of CORE Media Group which signed the deal.

"His lifelong fans will be thrilled all over again and new audiences will discover the electric experience of Elvis the performer," he added in a statement.

DDMG and CORE Media Group will produce "a series of 'virtual' Elvis Presley likenesses for a range of entertainment projects - from shows and appearances to film, TV and multi-platform productions throughout the world," they said.

The vividly life-like Shakur hologram performance, in which the late rapper appeared to rise from the stage, shocked some fans at the Coachella music and arts festival in Indio, California in April.

The spectacular digital 3D display triggered speculation about whether any number of dead celebrities can be brought back to life, whether for shows or other events.

DDMG boss John Textor called Presley "the most recognized performer on the planet," adding: "We are thrilled to have been chosen to bring new performances and original shows where fans can have their own, new experiences of Elvis."

"In addition to being a dream project on the creative side, this agreement enables us to participate in the success of any number of potential virtual Elvis appearances."

Presley, who died in 1977, is a music icon on the scale of Michael Jackson, but the length of time since his death means that younger generations never saw him live, and only know him from films, videos and songs.

The singer shot to fame with "Blue Suede Shoes" on his first studio album "Elvis Presley" in 1954, selling more than a billion albums since then, and continues to out-earn many other living celebrities.

DDMG, based in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, was founded in 1993 and has contributed to more than 90 films, including "Titanic," the "Transformers" series, "Real Steel" and "TRON: Legacy."

The digital production company, its work and employees have won numerous awards including seven from Oscars organizers the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, according to its website.

Poor guy. Gotta wonder when he's just gonna give it up. Lord knows, I don't give a flip about NCAA anymore (mainly because, as some already know, I'm sick and tired of the shitty hardware issues) and it's been the best "demo time" experience yet. Not caring (and, therefore, not buying the game) has made this time just FLY by.
