Nice find with the demo information Rudy. I always enjoy the Madden demo as they usually give 5 min quarters and access to all sliders so you get a real feel for the game.
Yeah I look forward to trying out the Madden 25 demo as well.
You never know what you are going to get from the Madden team, sometimes its only a half, or no commentary but instant replays, or like last year we got 2 match-ups.
The funny thing is they tweeted me that last year's demo wouldn't have access to sliders and they were wrong. You had access to everything including accelerated clock which I turned off. That allowed for 5 minute quarters and a long game.
In the next week or two, I am expecting to be flooded with Madden 25 information. Cannot wait...
I went back and played the Madden 13 demo this morning. I liked it quite a bit better than the NCAA 14 demo. I think it looks better and the Infinity Engine is better on tackles - you see gang tackling. It's smoother and has defence. The r-stick juke is better too.
At this point I am just sticking with Madden. I'm more of an NFL guy and it's painfully obvious EA's Madden team is much bigger and better IMO.
I actually did the same thing early last week after playing about 20 games of the NCAA 14 demo. I decided to pick up Madden 13 for $8 off ebay mostly to just get the feel for scouting and drafting in Madden 25 since it should be very similar. I have had to adjust sliders from my Madden 12 set and make a few roster edits to help the gameplay. 1 example I edited the Pass Blocking of all LT's in order to tone down the LE sack issue and give the RE's a chance. After finally playing Madden 13, I have to say I am now really looking forward to Madden 25 and what it has to offer with full control.
The sliders didn't work that well in M13. I'm hoping they work better in M25. The LE vs. RE issue was a big problem last year. Your edits probably help a lot.
Looks like we have one more blog coming about the All-Madden team. Should be out today I guess.
Here is Shopmaster's article on the new chemistry and head to head seasons in MUT: http://mymaddenpad.com/2013/07/01/he...ultimate-team/
I just watched the Run Free video again. I think some of those jukes and jump cuts are a lot better than what I was able to pull off in the NCAA 14 demo. Not sure if I wasn't doing it right but the moves look bigger in the Madden video.

My quick take on a few things I would like to see fixed in Madden 25. I haven't watched all the playbook videos or paid that much attention to e3 videos so maybe some of my issues with 13 have already been mentioned as fixed for Madden 25.
I hate the menu's and User Interface in M13 CCM. I shouldn't have to go digging for all my relevant info regarding my team and league. It just feels like a big jumbled mess compared to M12 and its rather simplified UI. Any word on whether the menu and UI has been re-done like NCAA 14?
I despise all the freezing issues I am seeing in CCM. When I am looking at depth chart, rosters, free agents, and scouting prospects suddenly the game screen freezes requiring a hard reset and I have now learned to save often which can get bothersome. It will be very annoying if owner mode has all these crashes and freezes in it.
I feel so disconnected from the league because simming the week is so slow and without showing the scores of the other games I have no feel as if I am in a living league. The news and twitter page helps offset this some, but I like paying attention to the records and scores while simming week to week it lets my mind create storylines. Simming a whole season in M12 took 10 minutes where in M13 it takes hours. Let's hope this has seen a major overhaul in M25 because I don't have all the time in the world.
Practice? Yes I am talking about practice, lol. What a boring uninspired mess this mini-game is in M13. I did it twice and I think the watching paint dry channel is more exciting. I skipped it the rest of the season and I can't believe the end result. The only XP my players got while simming a season were for weekly goals and milestone goals. This led to my highest XP gain being 3500 for my LT while the next highest was 2500 for my RG and every other player got less than 1500 XP, meaning I couldn't improve them at all. I think an easy fix would be add back in the old NFL films music during the practice session and add in player and coach chatter. This is suppose to be an NFL practice right? Let the players talk, coaches yell, and have my actual back-ups play against me.
I have one final note that I hope is different in M25 and that is scouting. I really think the bland grades are better than nothing but the game really needs to have a + and - grading scale. I mean I scouted 9 MLB's and they all had B tackling. I scouted 7 WR's and 6 had B catching. I feel almost every player gets a B or a C Physical grade(like 90% of guys I scouted and I scouted over 80 guys). The 1st time I tried just unlocking the grade for Physical and Intangible on as many guys as possible (I got 2000 SP per week and every 5 weeks I scouted). I scouted 86 guys then started looking deeper into a few of them which led to a freeze and my 2nd attempt with a different approach. I just started looking at letter grades of the top 4 or 5 attributes per position. Because of all the roster editing I have done with NCAA and Madden, I have a great feel for what is important for a player regarding gameplay. I scouted almost 100 players using this method and you guessed it the game froze again this time in week 7 of the off-season(Is this close to the NFL draft?). I have now learned as I mentioned earlier to save after every scouting session since I don't trust the stability of this game at all.
I am sorry about clogging up the Madden 25 info thread. I just hope these things are improved in M25 and wondered if any info was out regarding them obviously have to wait on the freezing issues until the game drops next month.
That's not clogging up the Madden 25 thread at all! I love reading everyone's thoughts on Madden and what they would like to see improved.
I don't remember having freezing issues in Madden last year. Are you on PS3 or 360? Maybe doing the PS3 database rebuild would help you. Not sure.
The menus were a mess last year and are supposed to be a lot better this year. I know I was confused as to where to go initially and am looking forward to this being better.
There is a transaction log this year in M25. That didn't exist last year so you never knew if someone got signed, cut or retired unless they showed up in the twitter feed. There is no weekly wrap up show like the Point After in M10 or M11 so you may still feel disconnected. I do think the twitter stuff got expanded. I don't know if the simming has gotten any faster.
I understand you on those scouting grades. A B grade is 80s which is anywhere between 80 and 89 and that is subject to change over the course of a year. C grade is 70-79. Having a C- and C+ would be nice, especially if it only cost you a little more in scouting points. Quite frankly scouting and figuring out the EXACT number is unrealistic so a second level for better letter grades would be a good idea. Of course we need more scouting points and the Madden team seems to like to handcuff us here, especially since we don't get basic 40 time info. I don't think this has changed though but I'm not sure.
Practice was boring as heck. I wanted the XP so I would always pick the practice scenario that was only a 4th quarter one so it wouldn't take as long. Plus you play against a fake team which made no sense to me. I'd rather go against my 1st team defense and actually see real people out there. What I'd really like to see is something along the lines of the Skills Trainer in NCAA 14 where you do the Oklahoma drill, option drills, passing drills, etc. I'd love it if they let us replay Madden moments for points if we are successful. Create new ones within my Madden week too which would make me feel connected as well. Sadly, practice was barely touched according to Shopmaster so prepared to be super bored again!
Connected Franchise Mode (CFM) will have options to turn off Ball Hawking and Heat Seeker on defense. You can also choose to let everyone relocate after the first year.

I will try the data base rebuild because the game shouldn't be that unstable. Thanks for the updates on the changes (In M12 I often checked the transaction log) and lack thereof from M13(practice mode could use a serious upgrade next gen). I miss the PS2 Madden Training Camp, and the NCAA 14 Skills Trainer shows that mode would be very welcomed if it returns.
I think ball hawk was hit and miss in NCAA 13 but in Madden 13 it is almost a guaranteed pick. Heat seeker in the NCAA 14 demo was worthless for me but it may have been disabled like CPU assist is on Heisman. I will turn them both off quickly if they are over-powered which unfortunately most new things are to attract the Madden arcade style casuals.
Excellent write-up!!! I especially agree with the idea that the mode CFM makes you feel so isolated. There needs to be a wrap up shw and the ability to see live scores on a ticker. You lay your games and do your stuff in a bubble. The NFL is all about the experience and that's what Madden NFL needs to figure out.
It seems all the attention went to Owner mode and I still don't know all the improvements to basic franchise.
I am excited that Owner mode is returning. I loved that feature back on the PS2.
Sorry for double post, but I really liked what I saw in terms of gameplay with the video included in the Owner Mode hype. Loved the safety play by Clark on the pick. He stayed with his assignment of deep coverage and picked off a terrible pass decision.
I just spent the last hour watching youtube videos of gameplay from E3 and I must say, that I am very impressed by what I see. There are things that are still annoying, but all in all this game looks to be shaping up to be very good.
Know that isn't final build or complete depth chart/roster
But I found it funny that Antonio Brown was the inside LB on kickoff
Looking forward to the demo. Believe the run game will be nice this year with the focus towards blocking in general and RB moves/movement.
I need to say that even though there are a number of issues with NCAA 14 I am having a lot of fun with it. In a lot of ways it's like experiencing Madden's CCM last year after all of the patches. I appreciate the owner mode updates but I cannot help but wonder how "fresh" the game will feel in other ways. I get the feeling that other than CFM's owner mode most of the big changes/additions will not be seen on PS3 but rather PS4/NEXT GEN CONSOLES.
Believe it will feel and look more defined than NCAA in regards to the fluidity of the run game, tackles, animations as a whole.
Madden 13 is/was what NCAA 14 is like IMO minus the stuff that happened after tackles.
Can't imagine with the IE tweaked more than I'd expect it to be a better product than 13.
Note I'm speaking in terms of gameplay, not CCM or any other modes
I agree. I expect the tackles and animations to be better in Madden. Everyone is saying IE in NCAA 14 is better than M13 but I disagree with that. The post play stuff is cleaned up but I don't see the gang tackling I see in Madden. Madden was a lot better in this area IMO.
I'm not a fan of the toned down juke moves in NCAA either.
A WR highlight vid from M25: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...s-on-madden-25
I must say I didn't care for some of the WR stiff arms and trucks from the smaller guys. Greg Jennings, Wallace and Welker all ran through or knocked over a DB. Fine for Brandon Marshall (not shown) or Boldin but that's not really those guys game imo. I'd have preferred seeing Wallace go deep! I did like Harvin's cut and then back stepping out of bounds. That was cool to see.
I agree with you to an extent. If this happens on a routine basis in the retail version of the game, I will be upset as well, but in these marketing videos, I don't put a whole lot of stock in those types of things.
Loved the Boldin catches and the Harvin's cut as you stated.
Cannot wait til this game drops.

GMC trucks in Madden 25...
ok...that is pretty dang cool.
They haven't announced anything about when they will show more of the next gen stuff. We only got a brief look at E3.
I have a feeling that the next gen stuff is behind and not ready to be seen (full gameplay clips). That game doesn't release until November so when the current gen game is released I'm guessing they will move more resources over to help finish it. At E3 they only let people run the ball with AP. I think they showed off one passing play behind closed doors as well. I can only guess the AI was really rough at that point so they didn't want people to see much.
I also think they want to hold off on showing too much until current gen releases that way they don't cannibalize current gen sales. I'm sure EA would love it if people bought a PS3/360 Madden and then three months later wowed them with next gen and got them to buy another copy. I think the next gen sales of Madden will be really weak for the first game. It's hard to sell Madden after they would have sold 3 or 4 million copies already. Plus there won't be that many owners of next gen hardware at that point.
I think the bolded part is more of the reason why we aren't seeing XOne/PS4 info vs that of 360/PS3. There will be far more opportunities to sell your game on current gen consoles vs next gen.
I think that once we reach October, the media will be flooded with next gen Madden 25 news/announcements/videos.
Atleast it wasn't like the NCAA stiff-arms where smaller guys are face palming guys into the ground lol
That and those videos are probably on Rookie difficulty
Will say hopefully they have the sideline awareness that NCAA has, regarding catches and interceptions. They have been looking amazing
Run Free Madden video. Nothing really new but not bad.

The intersting thing with Madden 25 for PS4 is that in his initial reflections @ e3, Pasta Padre was least impressed with madden (graphics, gameplay, etc.). In truth I'm not expecting a big jump between madden 25 on ps3 and ps4. I;m just not sold on Tiburon studios and their direction. EA Canada does amazing things and take 2 /2k does great stuff as does scea. However, Tiburon hasn't proven (on ps3) that they can pull off what other studios can.
video not bad. The hosts are terrible.
