But the team fought hard. Unlike UL Lafayette where I barely even threw the ball at all, this time around, every time I tried to run, SMU was right there to stuff it for either no gain or a loss, so I had no choice but to go to the air pretty much every play. Thankfully, their pass defense is not that good, so I was able to make some big plays happen and get some good drives going, fought back, retook the lead, and then held on for the last quarter.
Oh yeah, I can't wait to get Storm Johnson on the field. :D He's a good 10 points overall better than Mallary and Harden, so he is going to beast it next year. That's why I don't know if Medlock will have any chance at those career passing records, because with a stud like Johnson in my backfield, I'm going to be running it constantly next season.

Coaching Carousel Notes
Biggest surprise for me, was :Navy: firing Ken Niumatalolo as their head coach. Then they hired :Wake_Forest:'s defensive coordinator, who brings the Wake Forest (Spread) playbook into town. I don't think Navy is going to make it back to 8 wins next year transitioning from the Option to the Spread.
Tied for biggest surprise, :Texas_Tech: hiring Niumatalolo to be their OC, transitioning them from the Air Raid to the Option. Other big transitions, :Louisiana: switching from the Spread to the Option, and :Utah_State: one year after they changed their offense to the option, are dumping it and going to Multiple.
This ought to be entertaining next season. :popcorn:
I also think I doubled what the Coaching Carousel was last year. This year, the Carousel seemed to go on forever and like it would never end.

I got sort of burnt out from flying through season 1 and the first half of season 2 in a month back in August, then after I took time away, got busy with stuff at work, had a ton of new games come out, I was away long enough that NCAA started calling to me a couple weeks ago, so I felt it was time to jump back into it. Pacing myself with mainly just on the day I don't have to work and on the weekends, I'm getting anywhere from 3-4 days a week where I'm not playing NCAA at all, so it's keeping me rejuvenated and ready for my next game and next update.Quote:

Either keep playing with NCAA 12 for this dynasty, and just play some screw around dynasties (but not do a thread like this for them) on 13, or try and copy my current (whatever year and team it ends up being at the time) roster over to NCAA 13 player for player, so I can continue with my team on NCAA 13. I'll have to figure things out when that time comes.
Hmm, play at least one preseason ranked team from a BCS conference. I could look into that. I do have an opening in my schedule. I don't play my road game at Bowling Green until 2014, and our contract with Duke ended this season, so I have UCF and Louisville, and then Texas A&M coming to town on the home stretch of a home and home with TAMU from 2010 and an open spot right now for my 2013 schedule.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that. :D Yeah, Holgorsen, despite having only 14% job security, survives for the third and final year of his contract. I made every single conference change in the game that is happen in real life. I did make one extra move, dropping Temple for the MAC (and evening up the MAC's divisions) and adding Temple to Conference USA, to lessen CUSA's loss of having 3 teams leave but none coming in. If we were allowed to add more teams above 120, or kill off conferences all together (goodbye WAC), it'd make it so much easier with these conference moves.
Also, the Mountain West is now on notice. Despite gaining automatic qualifier status at the end of the 2011 season, the MWC has undergone drastic changes, first with the loss of TCU after 2011, and now with the loss of Boise State and San Diego State after this past season, resulting in the Mountain West losing it's top 3 best teams over the last two years. On top of that, the Mountain West this past bowl season going 2-3 (with Boise State taking one of those wins out the door) and finishing in 8th place in the Bowl Challenge Cup standings, unless the Mountain West can turn it around and have good showings this next season for sure, and possibly the season after if they last, they're going to lose their automatic qualifier status within the next one to three years.

A daunting schedule coming up. First, the last game of our home and home contract with Texas A&M dating back to 2010, we add #20 Washington with a 2 for 1 contract (at mors' request), our usual game with Louisville, and our usual game with UCF, who is ranked #10 going into the season, which has been bumped down to a week 14 match-up due to scheduling differences.
Looking at my schedule, I can very easily see us being 0-3 going into the North Texas game, and going 0-4 altogether in our non-conference games for 2013.

Florida International, Washington Agree to Two and One Series
With an opening in the schedule for 2013, the Florida International athletic department went out in search of a fourth non-conference opponent for 2013. While the Golden Panthers had plenty of interest of teams in the MAC, Conference USA and Mountain West, the Panthers decided to go a step higher and go in touch with the athletic department of the Washington Huskies, looking to set up something. After multiple discussions, it was decided to play a two and one series, putting the first Pac-12 opponent (outside of a bowl game) on the Golden Panthers schedule.
Head coach Mario Cristobal stated that he looks forward to taking the field with the Huskies, hoping to see how his Golden Panthers can match up with a top 25 program after a very successful 2012 season in Miami.
Florida International will play at Washington this year (2013), Washington will then make a trip to FIU Stadium in 2014, with the Golden Panthers scheduled to return to Washington in the third and final leg of the series in 2015.

Wow man, that's one hell of a tough schedule. UCF or Boise State look like the favorites for the Big East, which is damn interesting. WVU is going to get trounced in the Big 12 (unlike in real life ;)). Holy crap does Oklahoma and Wisconsin look unstoppable. Jesus.
Definitely going to be an interesting season for you. You lack of depth on the offensive line might come back to haunt you (hopefully it doesn't), but damn does Storm Johnson look like a beast (can you do a rundown of his attributes? I'm interested. ;)). And you have back your All-American DT, a crazy talented MLB transfer (which I totally forgot until going back and reading that he transferred from Miami to you as well), and three pretty decent corners. Looks like you have some pieces to really be good. Your offensive line isn't great, but it looks like it should be talented enough to run the ball 45+ times with Johnson and Mallary and, while he's not rated really highly, Wayne Times looks like he could be a good target for you. At least Medlock increased fairly decently (+4 from last year). Sucks that he's a Senior. Looks like, if I were you, I'd be jumping ship after this season unless you didn't get any decent offers. You're gonna have a hard time keeping up your success after this season with the lack of talent you have on your team.

Yeah, that's one area where I have failed in recruiting, is I've really ignored my offensive line, trying to go after bigger and better HBs, WRs, defensive players, etc. I haven't decided what I'm going to do at the end of this year yet. Smooth, I used to do an online RPG-like game that involved a lot of writing. I think that burnt me out to the idea of "writing for fun" for the rest of my life.

Yeah, FIU has a line of good HBs, with Darriet Perry the first year, Darrian Mallary and Jeremiah Harden the second year, Darrian Mallary the third year. Then I hit the jackpot with Storm Johnson, giving me him the third year as well. Unfortunately for Mallary, despite breaking/setting every one but the career rushing records, I just can't start him over Storm Johnson when it's so night and day as to their ratings.Quote:
