??? What you choose to buy/support is your choice bro and I would not think less of anyone choosing to support them. I would disagree with the choice but it is yours none the less......I have a lot of people in my life that make choices I disagree with over far more important issues than buying video games and I still like them and support them.....but not their choices.
For me blind support is not seeing critical issues or ignoring them or expecting others that do see them to not say anything etc. There are critical issues with this publisher and its QC and product support. I want great games, fun times etc and I realize there will be issues but leaving the customer with those issues and expecting them to forgive/forget and line up every year for another dose well, I am over it until it changes.
I lurked here for over a year before joining as primarily a sports gamer. It was through this site that my interests have WAY BROADENED to shooters, rpgs etc. I watch what you and more often Tommy play and try new things based on what you guys play. I don't/won't miss unsupported buggy sports games now:up:
You're missing the point. It's blind hate due to ridiculous comments as shown earlier that were posted a while back.
What one has done over the other is a different argument.
Figured an intelligent sports guy like you dug realism? In all seriousness the battleship issue for me was a marketing problem. I never thought that that would be the focus of the game, just part that I would pass on playing. I imagine if FIFA added random land mines mode as an option you would pass, no?
No one is wrong for their choice of game...whichever is preferred for another may not be the same for someone else
If I like PGA/Rory it shouldn't be stupid or a wrong choice. Or drinking the kool-aid, fan boy, "holding gun to head", etc
If someone likes Golf Club so be it as well.
I play real golf when I want realism..not a video game anyway...even one that I spend $60 on. No game is all that challenging anyway and never will be when enough time is spent on it
Man TGC thread blew up today.
Granted but imagine if after every game of fifa if you did not remember to reset a couple of players on your roster after every game your entire line up changed? You don't discover your forgetfulness until your next online game....oops i have tards instead of my team....drop and loss....cheers..... First world problem no doubt but before a "fix" you did not have this pain to deal with. After the fix you do.....but because you enjoy the game you play on as a fix is dangled then poof......nada.
A broken game is a different conversation than "battleships are dumb".
In a quick look, this game had slightly lower metacritic scores than TW14. From that, it's tough to say either game is better or that this game has changed the marketplace significantly. Sounds to me like it's simply about preference.
I prefer no golf. Some like TGC and laugh at battleships. Some like EA's game and say TGC is boring (sounds like they nailed Sim if golf is boring, lol). In the end, who cares? I agree with Skip. Spend your money however you like.
As far as broken games go, I can't fault you for refusing to support what you perceive to be a shitty product. I haven't played much Madden since circa 2004 because there are flaws that I can't get past. That said, I don't waste much energy shitting on guys who like it. Sadly, there are people with nothing better to do than to try and ruin the experience for others (I don't lump you into this category).

Just calling it as I see it. Just because you bought TGC does not lessen your bias towards EA games. Pretty sure you buy tons of games that never get much gameplay, outside of trying to raise your trophy count. You seem to be hard on one game and the other you give a pass, after pass, after pass. Where was your hard hitting analysis on all the problems with the Tiger Woods series?
I don't think anyone here considers TGC to be perfect and without fault, as there are numerous issues with the game. What is refreshing is a development team that interacts with their customers, implements their ideas for the game and supports it long after the fact. The course creation tool was the selling point for the game. They do not have any of the fancy licenses, so they went after a segment of the golf community that desires to not only play golf but build course. Courses that you would never get to play otherwise.
One is an established license that has been on the market for more than a decade, the other is a first entry into the market from a much smaller company. Hopefully, one day, you will figure out the difference between the two and why one deserves a little more slack than the other.
You clearly didn't do your research. How many hours have I put into Battlefield, NBA Live, Destiny, NBA 2K, on and on with not many trophies earned.
:fp: Only one or two steps away from whipping out dicks and having a measuring contest on stream.

One of us actually owns the games being discussed, the other... Why exactly are you posting here? Because I dropped by? Pretty sure JB is a big boy and does not need his own defense force.
Yup, no shenanigans on this forum outside of when I show up. rollseyes.gif
Didn't know I was restricted from participating in discussion about a game that I do not own. If that's the case, perhaps you should STFU about the next EA golf game since you do not own it.
Bonus points to you, good sir, for knowing who "motherfucker" is, however.

Nobody owns it, so what is your point? I have owned every PGA/Tiger Woods game and the new one will be no exception. See, I like golf games, therefore I discuss them. I am rougher on EA's golf titles because they have had a game, almost yearly, since 1991 on the consoles. JB can call it hatred and it is no skin off my back, he is not paying for my games and neither is EA. I simply expect more for $59.99 price tag (plus hundreds of dollars for DLC courses over the years) that I have been playing for quite some time.
You, on the other hand, do not care for golf games (as mentioned already in this thread). I posted information about the next update and replied to a comment from JB. You are just here to get a rise out of me and that is just not going to happen. Appreciate the bonus points though, that was kind of you.
This is what I miss most about competing sports titles. TeamEA vs. TeamOtherGuy
I LOVE the $60 argument. People routinely spend more than $60 on dinner, drinks, movie, concert, sporting event, etc. Yet, when they buy a video game, they act like it is a major investment.
It's entertainment. It costs money. If you're not happy with the "bang for the buck", quit buying it.
If you thought a movie was terrible would you go see all the sequels and then complain about them? Seems insane to me.
If you're the one buying a game every year even though you have major complaints about the value you are getting from it, it seems more likely that you are the one with a gun to his head.

I'm fairly doing everything well, but chipping, pitching, and loft shots are killing at least 8-10 shots off my score. Working towards my first handicap rating, but it will suck :D
This is pretty good :D
@thegolfclubgame Too many bogeys at Dead Man's Wood and you'll never leave. This poor hacker never made it to 14! pic.twitter.com/I78Tv99iHs

I think they did a fairly accurate job on the pitching/chipping. In real golf you can set up your wedges on down to your 7i for chipping, using a 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, etc... ratio on in the air vs roll out.
I attempt to apply this to the game and for the most part I can chip within a few feet of the hole. Once I started doing this my scores came down.
Adding/subtracting loft on full iron shots also helps with yardages.
Yeah that's how I'm getting by is adjusting the loft to a comfortable percentage.
Well, I may actually give this a try. It's part of the Xbox Spring Sale, today through the 12th, it's 67% off for Gold members, 60% off to Silver members. So instead of $35, it's $11.55 plus tax. For $12, I think I'd be willing to give this game a try, even if I end up not liking it. $12, meh, I just don't get fast food for dinner one night.
That is a great price Smooth.
I'd give it a tinker for that price...if it were for PS4
Played my first round, just a tee up round on Black Brook Golf Course. +12 in the front nine with four bogeys, a double bogey and two triple bogeys, -3 on the back nine with three birdies and six par. A hell of an improvement once I started to get the hang of putting and the green speeds.
Played my second round, again on Black Brook Golf Course with a simple Tee Off round. More consistent this time, though I had my trouble spots. Shot +4 on the front nine, +1 on the back nine for a +5 total for the round. Started off with five straight pars, before a horrible tee shot screwed me and left me double putting to a triple bogey on hole 6. Made a birdie on 7 but followed that with back to back bogeys on 8 and 9.
Started the back nine with back to back birdies and a par, then got hit with a bogey on 13 and a double bogey on 14. Cut the damage with a birdie on 15 and pars on 16 and 17, before missing an 18 foot putt just INCHES short of the bloody hole (even lined it up perfectly to account for the sideways green speeds), forcing me to end the round on a bogey.
Three more rounds and I'll unlock my Handicap Index. Three more rounds, and hopefully, I can make even par or even under par on this bastard course.
